I Believe the Bible Is the Inspired Word of God

To me the bible is the most imporant book in my life, not a day that I dont read the bible. I have read through the whole bible several times over the years and I am so very grateful for that book and for God revealing eternal truth to us.

Not to be rude but I'm a bit confused by something. The bible says don't eat bacon, don't cut your hair, and don't mutilate the body (ear piercings, tattoos, cosmetic surgeries, etc.), don't wear clothes made of two kinds of materials, everything to do with menstruation, supports slavery, says if a man commits bestiality the animal has to die too, there's a lot of insane stuff in there. What do you make of it? And please don't say "Well that's the OLD testament", as I've had that response many times.

Im sure there is a lot more "insane stuff" in the bible for you. To me there is nothing insane in the bible.

@Dreammmer: So....slavery and forcing a woman into solitude because of menstruation isn't insane?

@wonkavite04: No, both are not insane and your idea of both is probably wrong. Slavery is not an invention of God or a purpose of God, but it is ordered by God in a way that gives people hope and protection. What makes you think that women are forced into solitude?

My apologies, I had it mixed up with an article I read once. Slavery is ordered by God in a way that gives people hope and protection? Okay, here:
Numbers 31:7-18 When you kill your enemies, take their virgin girls for yourself whether they like it or not.
Exodus 21:20-21 Says it's okay to hit your slaves as much as you want, so long as they don't die.

@wonkavite04: Im glad you study Scripture and seek to understand Gods word. If you have a problem with God being a sovereign and holy God, then I cannot help you, you need to adress that directly to God.
