Would anyone be interested in starting a bible study on here? I am thinking maybe go through a Gospel and every week, post a chapter. We would spend the week discussing the chapter.
Genesis 1:1

The Hebrew verb consists of two different states. The perfect state indicates an action which is complete, whereas the imperfect state indicates a continuous or incomplete action.

At Genesis 1:1 the word bara, translated as created, is in the perfect state, which means that at this point the creation of the heavens and the Earth were completed. Later, as in verse 16 the Hebrew word asah, translated as made, is used, which is in the imperfect state, indicating continuous action. The heavens and Earth were created in verse 1 and an indeterminate time later they were being prepared for habitation, much the same as a bed is manufactured (complete) and made (continuous) afterwards.
Why not start with the beginning to better understand the gospels and not limit or force the time spent in discussing? I would be very interested in a study if it were not so structured - doctrinal or campfire - and just simply a study discussion.

@AkioTsukino i absolutely agree. Jesus is God and God is Jesus and like wise with the Holy Spirit. 1 God in 3 persons.

I think you can study both at the same time. I think it was Ignatius whobsaid the New testament is hidden in the Old and the Old is revealed in the New. Like the Gospel of John, the first chapter is just the bugging of Genesis reworded.

No. That's not what I meant at all. You know what? I think probably I would be disruptive to your study. I was thinking of starting one myself. I wasn't even aware this forum was here. You've brought it to my attention. I think it would be best if we had separate studies. Maybe I'll drop in once in a while and comment so long as my comments won't be to disruptive. I'm sure we agree on some things.

@AkioTsukino i welcome an alternative view point. That is how we learn. And you cant have progress without a discussion. It wont be disruptive. And if i start this, i will delete any rude or hateful comments. So you are welcome to join in and give your opinion.

Start it off...

Post the frist parragraph of Matthew 1.. like verse 1 - 17 which is all about the genealogy of Jesus and then post your reply to it.. And others can respond.. Then start another post of Matthew 1: 18 - 25 which tells of the birth of Jesus and then post a response giving any insights you have..

I am sure sooner or later other people will make comments especially when you post the more interesting passages of the New Testament..
Okay. in an introductory sense what are your thoughts on the Bible? Do you think it's inspired? Infallible? Do you take it as literal or allegorical? I think the writing of the Bible was inspired but the translation was not and therefore the original writings were infallible but the Bible as we know it is fallible. I take it literal for the most part but it also includes allegorical, metaphorical and figurative bits and pieces.

@eyeno what happened to them? No interest?

@Random3838 Their posts and they both are still here.
As far as interests people will go specifically and make time to go to church, read the Bible, listen to sermons, etc.,.

On social sites people in General come for interaction, entertainment and just plain venting, amoung the many reasons.

I myself when moved by the Holy Spirit will post but not in the form of a Bible study.

With the Spirit within you'll have success..,try.
God bless you. (Numbers 6:23-25)
