I think the story about jesus' life is so ironic because it basically reflects

certain people who take things very literally or they don't read for themselves. Or they get some kind of gratification from judging others.

The Pharisees didn't like Jesus NOT because Jesus was healing on the sabbath they didn't like Jesus because he told them that what they were doing was EVIL and against God. They were vain, and greedy among other things. And that is not what they wanted to hear.

They always hung around trying to get Jesus to slip up and say the wrong thing so they could hang him. And eventually, they got what they wanted and crucified Jesus in the end. WELL ultimately to their demise of course.

I always find it interesting that people who throw out Old Testament judgements forget that Jesus was the new covenant, he was God’s new promise. Jesus brought acceptance and a straight path to God for ALL.

And the fact that even after his works and ultimate sacrifice, his followers began to return to exclusion and judgement just shows how ignorant and selfish people can be.

@Pinkstarburst some parts said ti uphold ‘every letter of the old law’ whilst others contradict it. The only consistent idea of the new covenant is that it was meant to be extended to both none Jew and Jew alike

@Pinkstarburst beautifully said, and yes it is very sad. But people are going to be who they are. At least Jesus brought awareness to the ones who had received it well

@pianoplayingsteve The Bible is not as black and white and people want to make it. For example, they told Jesus working on the sabbath is a sin because they were taking the law very literally. Jesus told them why not do good on the sabbath? basically because it's GOOD.

Yes, the old testament says not to work on the sabbath but Nobody is going to hell for working on the Sabbath.

@DeluxedEdition true it’s not black and white, it’s fifty shades of grey and I can teach you a little bit about that. ;)

But nah people make everything black and white these days, especially with politics. But no one group, idea or person is completely right or wrong
@pianoplayingsteve I believe, when we take away all the Bible philosophy and “experts” and truly read the story of Jesus. Love and acceptance of the love and acceptance of God is the true message.
