Whosoever ... hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookback, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken ... He shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries. Leviticus 21:17-23 KJV

@SpiritualMan no, it specifically states certain disabilities....you cannot take a book and say you believe in it and then decide which parts are relevant.
And...New Testament Age is already 2000 years out of date, maybe there should be a newer testament.

@SpiritualMan so if a man has a disability he is sinful.
This is not symbolic rhetoric, it is quite clear.

@SpiritualMan Did God gave us a readers guide too?

@SpiritualMan yeah, but the interpretation clause still seems to give us a broad number of christian sects that don't really seem to agree on things. Because if they would fully agree, there would be less pluralism. Don't you think?

Isn't that what's the problem with religious people from diffrent interpretations? That they all believe to know what God wants? Sorry to say, but I think it's extremely arrogant for anny believer to believe some theologican that knows what God wants.
To a degree, I agree there. but people still kick eachother for not being on the same page on all of it tough.
Don't confuse what God wants vs. what people do.

I do agree but I also think God cares more about agreement with the core doctrines of the faith vs. side issues.

Only because you think you know what God actually wants 🤷♂️
Now if you want to talk about TRUE, SERIOUS, and WICkED SEXUAL SIN, we can discuss how WICKED it is for humans and angels to engage in sexual relations with each other. THAT is WICKED and SICK.
Only because you think you know what God actually wants 🤷♂️

@SpiritualMan Yeah, but in the biblical context I agree with you there.
But I have to believe that the biblical context is the actual word of God and that I have to follow that to turn it into a real world doctrine. But in the biblical context, inside the story, you are absolutely right.

Yeah, but this is like one of those classical arguments from beauty. Where you have this conception that everything works harmoniously. While in fact, if you actually go to look at nature, things are pretty chaotic. And from this chaos certain harmonious elements keep to seem in check, but others just die out. Harmony is only there if you want to see it that way, if you are going to look at everything, then you'll notice that you unconciously have left the chaotic part out.
What we are actually seeing, are prophetic lines of text that are HIGHLY ambiguous. And believers that interpretate these lines of text, fill the ambiguities in in with their modern conceptions and are arrogant enough to believe that the biblical times are always happening during their lifespan.
That's part of the strength of prophecy, that it's ambiguous. That's the same reason why people believe in horoscopes. Because they give meaning to them from a subjective perspective.
First in Romans 1 it says that the world itself shows that God created it, how everything works together so perfectly. With our modern knowledge of scientific laws being so perfectly organized and how everything fits together we can get better insight into this.

Now regarding the bible itself we can see how prophecies given hundreds or thousands of years in earlier writings were fulfilled in later history, especially regarding Old Testament prophecies of Christ that are specific, and many of which that He would have no control over to self-fulfill those prophecies.

Do you believe Islamic countries are oppresive?
What it means is that people around the world are yearning and now fighting for their freedom from oppressive governments, including oppression of religious freedom.
