What does the Bible verse mean to you?

"Matthew 7:6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

just a total mindfuck to me really. No disrespect to anyone who follows the bible but why does everything seem to be left to interpretation in it, why cant anything just be clear cut?

@Torsten Well, Jesus spoke in parables. Parables are little stories with a point to them, like the three little pigs and the big bad wolf.

Jesus was the first one to tell the three little pigs story, actually but without the pigs and the wolf. It was he who first spoke about building your house on a rock and not upon sand, because when the storms and the high winds come, the house built upon sand will fall down.

Earlier in the bible, we have prophets speaking who are largely open to interpretation, because they were just trippin', TBH..🤣

@4meAndyou fair enough haha

@Torsten Oh, BTW, speaking of the rock and the sand, he was talking about them on two levels, at least. He called his follower, (Simon the fisherman), Simon PETER. Peter means rock in Latin, and Jesus told Simon Peter, (or just Peter), that he would be the rock upon which he built his church.

@Torsten Are you saying you can't understand this?

Matthew 10:5-6 (NLT) ="5 Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, 6 but only to the people of Israel—God’s lost sheep."

or this =

Matthew 15:24-26 (NLT) = "24 Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.”

25 But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!”

26 Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”
