What does the Bible verse mean to you?

"Matthew 7:6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

sounds like it's saying that animals are beneath us and i don't know if you ever had a dog but mine are part of the family on par with us. it sounds like the same pretentious BS that tries to build up our ego before calling us sinful and disgusting in another chapter.

@bugeye I Jewish Law Dog meat and pig meat are unclean to eat.. They are not Kosher.. The verse has nothing to do with human superiority over animals.. But symbolically to do with dealing with unbelievers who have not been made rghtious in spirit by believing jesus and trusting in the atonement He secured on the cross..
