It's not the size of your mountain; it's whom you choose to hold your hand, on your way to the top. How I handled the toughest times.
Unless you're willing to make the necessary changes that need to be made to your life, your life is not going to change. If you keep repeating the same things that never worked before, how can you expect them to work now?
It amazes me that some people never learn this. They just keep making the same mistakes over and over and over and over for years, and then wonder why nothing changes. This is frustrating, in my opinion, because there's no need to stay stuck where you're at if you are unhappy. Something can be done and that doesn't mean suicide! God made us with Incredible resilience and creativity to help ourselves. Even perseverance.
I hope you never accept defeat, when you can have victory. That may not mean that your Victory looks as perfect as you would like it, but at least you're making the effort to improve yourself and your life. It doesn't have to look perfect. It just has to make you happy, and in order to be happy, we don't have to have the very best, for it to be perfect. "If it's gonna to be, it's up to me!" Make it happen! Whatever that looks like to you, make it happen, so you can finally be happy.
Happiness doesn't mean you have everything in the world, or are the richest. A content person is a happy person. A person that has peace of mind, without having to put up with all the abuse in this world, is a happy person...even if you're sitting in your apartment with literally only one chair to your name and absolutely nothing else to your name.... no clothes, no silverware, no bed, no supplies....like I did, but I was happy, and that's what counts! I let nothing stop me and I was not young! I found out long ago and very quickly, that nothing is impossible, when God is there to help and guide you. He does. He cares. He loves you beyond words, and WANTS to help you. He will never abandon you, like other people in your life. Set priorities and goals in your life, and let nothing and nobody stop you, till you reach your goal. I never asked anyone for a dime. I did it all, with God's help and guidance.
I had to leave my house....not HOME. I could never call it a home, because home is a place where people accept you for who you are and they don't yell and scream at you nor abuse you and you are shown love. Home is where love, respect, faithfulness, communication, trust, honesty and safety reside. The place where you're not cheated on every day of the week, excluding
weekends. I left my 1908 aged, two-story house and everything in it, with two little children, 20 bucks to my name for gas, and no place to go, [on an earlier occasion], when I was young.
All we had, was what we could pack in the car and that sure wasn't much, being there were three of us, but let me tell you. I knew God would help us and so I stepped out on faith and the result of that faith, was the reward of seeing God work on my behalf, so don't tell me that you can do nothing. You can do anything you set your mind to, through Christ, who loves you and wants to help and take care of you.
I knew full well, my God would not let me down, and he didn't, and he hasn't for the last 50 years that I have known him. So don't tell me there's no God. The proof is in the experience. You can believe and receive, or doubt and do without. The first thing I did when we pulled out of the driveway that day and was on our way to the place God had prepared for us to rest in safety, was to stop at a Quick Shop to buy a newspaper, so that I could find a place for us to stay and I knew God would help me and he did. There it was, the ad and place God promised to provide us. "Mobile Home for Rent", it said.
Tell me. Who do you know in this world of ours, who would have a good enough heart to answer a call from a complete stranger, asking for help to rent a place, yet had no money to put down, and for this person to have the faith and trust that I would pay him rent, when I got a job? Tell me who would do that in this day and age. Even back then!
This person took me under wing and led us to an old, used mobile home, where we could have safety, shelter, and a place to sleep. We were all so happy to be away from our abuser. You have no idea, after 34 years of abuse, from this monster! So there we were, finally safe, thanks to the Lord and his keeping his promise to help me and my children. And just as I knew he would, he helped me find a job.
Don't tell me there's no God. He proved it to me, same as he will, to you. But he didn't have to prove it to me, because I was already a follower of his and I knew he keeps his promises, just as he will, if you accept him as your Lord and Savior.
So no....suicide is never the answer to a tempory setback. There's always another day...a fresh start. New beginnings....absolutely no need to do something drastic. God gave us the mentality and intelligence to work things out and he promised to always be by our side, which he is, and I'm living proof of. Realize the joy and reward of making things work...no need to give up. God can turn your life around at the snap of his fingers! Huge faith, is not needed. God gave us all a Measure of Faith. It says so in His Word. That's just enough to get you going and say to the Lord, "Okay, Lord....let's DO THIS!!"
"CAN'T" ... should never be in your vocabulary. Don't take "no" for an answer. Figure it out, because you can. It is well worth it and you deserve it. Where there is a will, there is a way. And even if you don't "feel" you have the faith that you can do it...even if you "see" no remedy in sight....even if you "feel" you can't possibly do it.....remember....that is a devil's lie!! You CAN do it, and you will, because nothing is impossible with god. If he wants to help you, and he does, nothing can stop him! Jesus makes a way where there seems to be no way. Perseverance and faith are the choices that people with a healthy mentality, make. They never give up and never should you, because when God created you, He gave you all the tools in your mental and spiritual toolbox, to make it!! And I'm talking, no matter what it looks like. You don't go by what it looks like. That's where the devil will get you discouraged and have you wanting to give up. Don't settle for that! You walk by faith, not sight. Anything is possible with God. No need to fear. If you have Jesus, you have everything you could possibly need and the most perfect help by your side.

Don't tell God you can't do it. He's in the miracle business, and He knows you can.
