I Am a Christian and I Love Jesus

The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good.

Psalm 14

The bible knows about atheists - those who deny God's existence. But the references to them in the bible are very, very, very few. The more important question for the biblical writers is this: "who is the true God?"

Atheism is a nonissue in the bible. One could even say that atheists are nonexistent from a biblical point of view.

On the other hand I notice that many atheists make constant reference to the bible and to Christians in their posts and their replies. Atheists react to the bible and to Christian claims as if they derive energy and life-support from interacting with what they deny and fight. Modern Atheism is a reactionary movement to a large degree. I dare to say that Atheists need Christians just like fire needs oxygen.

Another unnverving fact about atheists is their strong tendency to being cynical and ironic in their interacting with believers and their strong aversion to certain arguments and facts - rather than admitting that they have no answer to certain phenomena and cant explain some facts and arguments, they simply deny their relevance and ignore those arguments and facts. Atheists claim to have a great love for science and tangible evidence, at the same time they do the very opposite of scientists - who do their research without bias and prejudice, who take all facts and evidence into account.

My personal impression is that a good number of atheists lack peace and harbor a lot of anger and even hatred inside them. Not all of them. Please reply with respect and kindness :)

It's hard to reply with respect and kindness when you start out by equating atheists "fools, corrupt and claiming that their deeds are vile and none of them does good" don't you think?🙄

But I'll say this. Considering religious fundamentalism in all, but not only, Abrahamic religions. From Jewish settlements of Palestinian lands, the Christian massacres in Rwanda and Srebrenica, and ISIS. I would say that religious followers find more reasons to be angry in their holy books than inner peace.

I am disgusted the same way I'm disgusted with those who discriminate on racial basis, sexual orientation and /or gender.
I don't have to be a minority to be disgusted by racism. I don't have to be a homosexual to be disgusted by homophobia. I don't have to be a woman to be disgusted by misogyny.

@Solipsism: Just be disgusted, Im sure you find many reasons to be disgusted. You confirm my post and my perception of many atheists: "My personal impression is that a good number of atheists lack peace and harbor a lot of anger and even hatred inside them. Not all of them."

@Unicorn: Thank you for your reply. I have found peace and hope and purpose in life by knowing Jesus Christ. But I do not see Christianity as a religion. Religion is mans attempt to please God and earn heaven. I do not believe that people can earn heaven or please God with works. So, there is no amazing religion for me. And all I can say is, there is truth and wherever there are truths in the realm of faith, there are lies.

IT doesn't matter what can't be explained. But on what can be explained it scientifically clashes with whatever book/religion you're reading. The point of view of the human who wrote the religion in the first place, explained the world with what they already knew. Technically it's not their fault they didn't have a better scientific view of the world otherwise the bible etc could be more in depth. Believing in the truth is different from finding the truth by measuring it. The only good thing about religion is the moralistic values it gave to EARLY humans, who all needed something to fear to act right. The worlds starting to grow up now and stop believing in stories. The other good thing is free do nothing holidays. I guess that's a plus. My nephew is all you're going to hell! lol I'm like sure. Like the "devil" who your god created in the first place would punish bad guys XD already brainwashed.

These "Christian" posts that say Atheists are hateful people or are evil just really crack me up. I can't imagine that anyone takes you seriously. Atheists are people that don't believe in a god. Christians are people that believe in 1 out of 3000 gods, so we really aren't that different.
Atheists claim to have a great love for science and tangible evidence, at the same time they do the very opposite of scientists - who do their research without bias and prejudice, who take all facts and evidence into account.
The first bit is true, most atheists do love science and tangible evidence. I am sorry you feel we do the opposite, but that just isn't true. Since the Bible is just a long game of telephone at this point, there isn't anything you can use as fact to start with. Then add on the fact that Christians seem to believe its the direct word of god, tends to cause problems.

@Dreammmer: *grins* I do love when people demand answers or want to debate but then won't answer questions asked of them. They always seem to have reasons like yours as well, funny how that works?

Why would you bother to create this thread then? Isn't this whole post a waste of your time?

It honestly sounds like your faith is weak and you are worried that answering some tough questions might cause your belief to waver. Thats the only reason I can come up with as to why questions are "a waste of time".

You are one of many atheists who are just very thin skinned.

I am happy to allow people to either believe or not believe without belittling them or attacking them.
A lot of people who identify as atheists (or agnostics) are angry because they aren't allowed to feel as they do in peace. I've never been stopped on a street by an atheist with literature; none have rung the doorbell of my home early in the morning to proselytize. When an atheist is kind, generally it's not because of a fear of divine retribution if they're not. For the purposes of this discussion I can say "agnostic" comes closest to describing my feelings. I generally don't volunteer that information, not because I'm conflicted or ashamed, but I've had the experience of people not respecting it, and changing the subject back to their faith and why I should believe as they do.

Your explanation for the anger of atheists do not really convince me. First, I doubt that Christians really visit you and talk with you that much that you get angry about all Christians. Second, you are confronted with adds every single day through tv, radio and billboards and print media, and yet you are not angry with the companies that want your attention and interest. Third, Christians are not kind out of fear of punishment. That is rather ridiculous and even if someone were able to force people to be kind, it just does not work and never has worked. Kindness cannot be forced.
