A Mother’s Heart: From Fear to Understanding
I seek forgiveness from my son for the times I may have hurt him by not supporting his decision to follow Christianity. I also seek forgiveness from his dear friend, who inspired and supported him on his newfound spiritual journey.
As a mother, and as someone from a different faith, I was afraid and struggled to understand his choice. I believed that my own spiritual path was the right one, and I found it difficult to see beyond my own understanding.
But with time, I have come to realize that love should never depend on sharing the same beliefs. Faith is deeply personal, and each person has the right to follow the path that brings meaning, peace, and spiritual fulfillment to their life.
I love my son with all my heart. I am learning to respect his faith, as well as the faith of his better half, and to honor their spiritual journey, even when it is different from my own.
To my son, I am truly sorry for any pain I may have caused you. I seek your forgiveness with all my heart. And to your dear friend, I am also sorry if my words or actions ever caused you hurt.
As a mother, I am learning that acceptance does not require us to believe the same things, it simply asks us to love and respect one another. ❤🙏
