... and also Maria/Meryem!
exexec · 70-79, C
Most Christians would be surprised to know that Islamic scripture has more about the mother of Jesus than is in the Bible.

@exexec oh yah, they would be surprised if they knew that there's a hole chapter called meriem (mary)

hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@dexterrr22 So how do you think Jesus prayed? We have His prayers in the Bible. He even told us how to pray. Do you repeat the prayer He gave us?

It's hard to get a consistent story for what the Quran says sometimes, but consistently I hear them say Jesus was not the son of God and is not given rule and power over the heavens and the earth, and that their prophet is greater

That's blasphemy, but I didn't read it myself to know it's there

Loving Jesus is a non starter. Do you accept Him as God the Son? If not then you are on the wrong side.

@dexterrr22 Jesus performs miracles in my life. One Sunday afternoon our neighbours came to visit. They didn't go home. It was getting close to supper and we didn't have anywhere near enough food to feed them. In fact we didn't have enough food for my wife and I to have supper if our kids were hungry. We didn't have any money and the stores were all closed anyways. I went to my bedroom to pray and as I prayed I opened my Bible. The verse that jumped off the page at me said was Jesus saying "You feed them". Mark 6:37. Rather angrily I went down stairs and told my wife to make supper. Sunday night was spaghetti night so my wife cooked the bit of spaghetti we had in the house and the bit of spaghetti sauce we had. I went out to the tiny garden we had in the back yard and pulled a few carrots which we added to the sauce then blended the whole thing together. I told the kids to start. There wasn't much food in the serving bowl but. The first boy took a heaping plate as did the second, third fourth fifth six and seventh. I looked in the bowl. There was still food so I asked the adults to take some. 4 adults took heaping platefuls and it was delicious. The children then came back asking for seconds. There was still food in the bowl so I told them to go ahead. We adults then went back for seconds. The next morning we were cleaning up and I looked in the spaghetti bowl. It was as full as when we first put the food on the table. 11 people had seconds from a bowl that barely had enough to feed 4 children. Jesus works miracles today.

@dexterrr22 Jesus works miracles in my life. On Wednesday May 27, 2026 I was trying to move some very heavy steel into position. How heavy? Well over 250 kgs. As I tugged on the steel trying to get it to move my hand slipped and in that instant the steel came crashing down on my index and middle fingers. A loud bang as it dropped about 6 cm onto my fingers. Somehow it bounced and I yanked my fingers out fully expecting them to be crushed flat. my fingers were fine. A slight slight bruise on each finger but no crushed bones and the joints all still work. How is it possible? I don't know but I know that my God and my Saviour Jesus Christ. God the Son, God the Logos lives and looks after His own. You should get to know Him instead of thinking of Him in the past tense. He works miracles today.

@dexterrr22 So let me begin with the beginning. I was an ardent atheist. I would say I was even evangelical in my atheism going out of my way to denigrate other people's faith. Then one warm sunny day I was cultivating a field on the family farm. The sun was sinking low in the western sky and I shut off the tractor and began to walk back to the farmhouse where my wife and children awaited my return. The birds were chirping and the cattle were lowing and the insects were buzzing. The smell of the native Canadian prairie that had never been broken was heavenly. Native sages and grasses have their own unique smell. I was happy. As I walked I felt a Presence I had never encountered before. I couldn't see it but I knew it was there. With that Presence came the need to pray. I had no idea how to pray I was an atheist but something within me led me to a small white rock poking above the native grasses. It had little patches of pale green lichens and by that little white rock I knelt and asked Jesus to forgive me. I had no idea why I would say that but that is what I said. In that instant I knew that the Presence I had been noting beside me was Jesus. My entire world view flipped on its head. Suddenly Jesus was Fully God and God really did exist. My life changed. I began attending church. I was baptized in a river. I went on to seminary and became a pastor. I know my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ lives. I have met Him. You can too if you want to.

@Gibbon 1- we don't reject that he was crucified, we believe that his body was crucified but his soul wasn't and his soul was protected by god, and that's why we believe he will return.
2- seriously, logically , you have more than 77 version of bible, how can you believe that it's not mixed ? that's why we reject your doctrine, and say we have the only truth
