I hear so often that there are no contradictions in the Bible but we get a huge one in the very first book of Genesis:

Genesis 1 and 2 contradict each other on the fundamental nature of God: Is he perfect or does he make mistakes?

In Genesis 1 we see God create and everything he creates is good. Gets it right the first time, no notes. Makes animals and then humans and he sees that it's all very good.

But in Genesis 2 we see that god creates...but he sees that it is NOT good that Adam is alone and so he creates animals for him to find a companion...but this doesn't work either and so he creates a woman to be a companion

So which is it?
Did God make everything how he wanted it the first time or did he need to tweak his creation to get it right?

Nice to see you reading your Bible. You get a good understanding of God’s creation by meditating on the Psalms.
@peterlee

I hate to disappoint you but reading the Bible is what convinced me that it was written by men, for men with no evidence of divine inspiration.
Not to say that there's no good wisdom in the Bible because there is. I was just convinced by reading it of its very human origins.

@Pikachu Those old boys who wrote the Psalms knew a lot more about God than I ever will.

Meditating is not reading, more like pondering. Think of God’s goodness one day perhaps, and how it contributes to the beauty of the sky, part of his creation for you to enjoy. Or the beauty of life itself.

My last journey through the Psalms took three years.
I used the late Tim Keller’s book to help me.My Rock, My Salvation.
@peterlee

There's some good wisdom in the Psalms. There's some pretty generic stuff too.
I do find it surprising that people consider the Psalms to be part of God's word though.
Like how is talking about a girl's boobs being really awesome divinely inspired? 😆

@Pikachu Who can understand the mind of God? Who has been His Counsellor?

David, and a few other men wrote the Book of Psalms from their hearts. The Book of Psalms is an expression of what David and others felt towards God.

Ecclesiastics and Proverbs are also books wrote from the heart of a man Solomon.

Lamentation a Book written from the heart of Jeremiah.

God has no concern for human boobs

Man on the other hand seems to love them, and the Songs of Solomon takes the Cake, Solomon dives a bit deeper.
