Can you still call yourself a Christian?

If you don't believe the idea that every single human that ever lives and reaches a certain maturity level is such a bad person, that they all (me and you included) deserve to be mercilessly tortured forever and ever.

@Sweetguy024 That idea is not supported by what is written in Revelation. On Judgment Day death and hell are tossed into the lake of fire and so are people whose names are not written in the book of life. The kicker is that people can be evil but still get eternal life. They just won't get into the golden cube. Remember, God has evil angels who do his dirty work and that is all that is required.

In Islam most of the people who go to hell are women. But everyone gets tortured there forever. People tend to get their hells mixed up and more Christian people believe in the Islamic hell than in the biblical hell. Read the fairytales.

@Diotrephes yeah but the evil (or just anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus's sacrifice) will have an eternal life of nothing but intense pain

If you reject that then you reject the idea of a perfect God who cannot tolerate any sin.. Even the most minor of Sin..

@Adstar I trust in God, I know he is always righteous and just and does everything he does for good reason. I just feel that is highly likely that a lot of ideas people have are due to misinterpretations. I believe there is a hell, I'm just not sure of all the conditions.

Do you mean the conditions in hell?

or

Do you mean the conditions one has to adhear to to avoid going to hell?

Or do you mean something else?

@Adstar I mean that I question the idea that we're all people are bad enough to be deserving of eternal non stop no mercy torture. That once you're in hell that's it, there's absolutely no way out. And everyone is all in the same situation, being completely submerged in a lake fire. Hungry, tired and thirsty with no hope of relief from the intense constant pain.
I've heard and do believe that there is a way out, it's more of a purification for the soul. Once we've gone through what we need to and beg God for mercy he'll release us.
