People reject the Bible because it strengthens conscience, wounds pride, exalts Jesus, disturbs routine, exposes sin and demands obedience.

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Many people reject the Bible because the Bible is the only book that tells the truth about the world and mans fallen nature and about man's innate evil and desperately wicked heart, and man doesn't want to hear it, because, as most should be cognizant of by now, humans generally do not want to know the truth. Humans have a proclivity towards degeneration, destruction, darkness, dishonesty, deceit and manipulation.

I rejected the Bible as a true story because i read it. And when i read it i found it to be profoundly human in scope, understanding and nature.
There was nothing there which indicated any connection to the divine.
Just politics and culture with a veneer of "god's will" slapped on top.

Christians are taught that people reject their beliefs because they know it's actually true and don't like what it has to say.
This is dogma.
This is indoctrination.
This is a lie.

People don't believe in the veracity of your religion for a whole host of legitimate, intellectually honest and moral reasons.
You need to learn to look past your religious myopia if you ever want to properly understand your fellow man.

Yes, they don't like it, because it holds up a mirror to their spirit. Pricks their conscience. Some do not want to be responsible for their own actions.

Oh my Jesus saves from the fires of hell, especially those in most need of your mercy.
LadyGrace · 70-79
@cyberdude28 I think all are "in most need" of His mercy. One, no less a sinner than the other.
