Coptic Martyrs in Libya.

An author of a book for Release International went to visit the priest of the martyred Egyptian Christians (martyred in Libya), he asked the author "Why do you want to meet their families? Do not expect too much. They are all the same. You can visit any of their families and you will find the same attitude to the church everywhere- the same strong faith, and the same readiness for martyrdom. This is not a Western church in a Western society. We are the church of the martyrs".

What a verbal smack- the priest must have watched videos of my favourite street preacher Dorre Love for that level of bluntness! But seriously, isn't this true? How many of you have withheld from speaking the Gospel because of fear of fear of looking like a religious freak? *raises hand

The author also visited a woman who lost a loved one when a bomb was thrown into a church. She says: "They have received their reward, they are with their Lord whom they loved and served all their lives. They are free now of the troubles of this life."

May we learn from our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in Christ in Egypt.

That prisoner of the Lord very sweetly writes in one of his glowing letters--"O my Lord Jesus Christ, if I could be in heaven without you, it would be a hell; and if I could be in hell, and have you still, it would be a heaven to me, for you are all the heaven I want." It is true, is it not, Christian? Does not your soul say so?

They are so strong. I don't think I could do that.
@Matt85 We talk the talk but these faithful Christians actually did it.

Without being a doubter, it’s got to point out the futility of prayer. I suppose it stops you thinking about what’s about to happen to you.
@WintaTheAngle Prayer is something that even a library the size of a Country could not quite scratch the service of.

But communion with God is essential, prayer is not just about asking for things we want. It can be praise, etc.

@WintaTheAngle I am not God. But when we rest in God's sovereignty, there is a peace that surpasses all understanding.

It's like when my wife had a ruptured aneurysm and made it but had part of her body weaker than the other. Then she got pregnant in all odds despite having ovarian cists but then miscarried.

People like her could explain it better than me.
