Please don’t tell me that you lose sleep about what I believe. Get over yourself.
@Alababy No, we're just tired of how we're treated by believers that refuse to leave us alone, making posts themselves saying all sorts of malicious bullshit.
@Alababy I lose sleep thinking about what new draconian laws you people are going to come up with to try to prevent me from practicing my religion.
James25 · 61-69, M
@Alababy I don't. Only when you try and shove it down other people's throats or try to harm them with your beliefs. Keep your damn beliefs to yourself.

Christianity is more than just being good. It is about admitting you are NOT good. Jesus Christ said there are none good, no not one.
It is about admitting that you aren't good and can do nothing about it except to put your faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for you at Calvary.

I believe in Christianity with all of my heart. Rather, I believe in God with all my heart. Of course I sometimes have questions and even doubts, but at my core, I'll never stop believing in and loving Him. He has been a wonderful presence in my life and the lives of people I know. I know prayer does get answered... although not always as we want. I know He is real

@TexasDude Check the beam in your own eye dude. Christianity a Republicans are full of pro-rape pedophiles. Heck even God condones rape and pedophilia. One because he never intervenes and two he both got an underage girl pregnant against her will and condoned the taking of the girls that had "never know a man" to be taken as sex slaves. AKA children.
Have fun worshiping your new god trump in your polytheistic religion traitor.
RageAgainstTheMachine · 36-40, M
While I agree with the sentiment, attacking a specific religion negates the message entirely.

I do believe in the salvation that Jesus offers.
To believe that the human heart is good without God is misleading.
I am going to guess that it has been a minute since you opened the Holy Bible so here is a scripture to understand the depravity of mankind.
Jeremiah 17:9-10
The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@Pfuzylogic I’m not sure where you see accusations other than you being judgmental. In some ways, I’m envious of your peace. Again, questioning is not the same as criticizing or accusing. It’s like you’re defensive with no reason to be. At least not with me.
James25 · 61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic Jesus can shove his salvation up his ass and then rotate on it
Pfuzylogic · M
@James25 Don’t abuse your privilege to post in the Christianity forum. I just reported your last.
saintsong · 41-45, F
The video of the singer that you chose is clearly a true Christian, it takes one to know one.....So what was your point again? Being a true Christian is the best thing that has ever happened to me, not only has it given meaning and purpose to my life, but it has answered deep questions solved problems, and shown me awe and wonders so miraculous that have captivated my heart beyond the natural world, that nobody could ever steal from me. I am happier to be a Christian than I would be if I were not.
James25 · 61-69, M
@saintsong good for you
Mcnamee11 · 41-45, F
I believe in Jesus and yes Iam a Christian unashamed
James25 · 61-69, M
@Mcnamee11 illogical fallacy
Sure. But being good doesn't get you into heaven.

We are all born with original sin so can't be "good" but Christ shed his blood on the cross for the forgiveness of our sin!
@NativePortlander1970 Oh no random person online is being a meanie to me

James25 · 61-69, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic that's why your religion is a bunch of nonsense
@James25 Why is it?
Adstar · 56-60, M
[big]I believe in Christianity.. 😉 😊[/big]
TexasDude · 31-35, M
@James25 They believe in Christianity because it's true and real. That's reason enough
James25 · 61-69, M
@Adstar sorry but Christianity is a bunch of nonsense.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@James25 I will not say sorry.. But if you hate the truth by rejecting the Word of God you are headed for eternal torment..
Pfuzylogic · M
@Bumbles If only.
No problem adding an "O" and believing in good.
Slade · 56-60, M
@BlueSkyKing They are not mutually exclusive
RedBaron · M
I’m not personally, but what’s it to you?

Leave people alone to believe as they choose. It’s called freedom of religion.
James25 · 61-69, M
@RedBaron it's nothing to me. You can choose as you please as long as you are not harming others. The problem with Christianity is they want to make everyone else Christians. Whether they choose to believe or not. And if you choose not to they threaten you with eternal damnation. How about you tell them to leave us alone and keep their religion to themselves.
RedBaron · M
@James25 But they can’t really threaten anyone because they don’t control “eternal damnation.”

And you can choose to do what I do: tune them out and don’t listen.

They can’t do anything to you if you ignore them.

Problem solved.

I don't believe in God but even I know that there's added incentive to be good if you believe. The big benefit of not believing in God is that this fosters a superior understanding of morality. Right reality breeds right morality. Now to add a natural incentive!
James25 · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay well said I agree
SW-User
@Ynotisay You're only looking at the negative side. There's a carrot as well as a stick. We badly need a carrot.
saintsong · 41-45, F
@Ynotisay Well some of us have landed ourselves upon Hells doorstep, I sold my soul when I was 19 years old and have our demons that wish to drag us down to hell...It is then when only Jesus Christ can truly save us from this eternal damnation, and as for me He did just that.......Now I can literally hear Heavenly Angels singing instead of wicked demons...Now the demons attack me through other schizophrenics accusing me day and night, but I know that He who knew no sin became sin for me so that I may have the righteousness of God! So satan has nothing on me!!!! I am seated in heavenly places, all BECAUSE OF JESUS CHRIST who led me through the valley of the shadow of death to where I am today!!!! Jesus saves!!!!! He really does, I am living proof of it!

Where does good come from?
sascha · F
@NativePortlander1970 Why does good help? Tell me why evil hurts?

Where does it all come from?
@sascha Nobody knows the real answer, everything claimed is pure conjecture.
sascha · F
@James25
being good is showing kindness understanding patience empathy and a willingness to help others. This promotes the betterment of self and others.
Why do we need to "promote" anything? This language is superficial.
I am a Christian. Sorry to disappoint you.
James25 · 61-69, M
@CactusJackManson I'm not disappointed. Just keep it to yourself and don't try and shove it down other people's throats or harm them with your beliefs.
@James25 When, exactly, did I do that?
MrsMONAKanful · 36-40, F
I need God without God my life wouldn’t be the way it is , I have a good life
Pfuzylogic · M
@James25
You have no concept of God.
You don’t confess Jesus as Savior.
James25 · 61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic exactly, to be good I don't need any concept of God nor do I need Jesus as my savior. The reason that you do is because you have no inner guidance. You can't tell right from wrong good from evil.
Pfuzylogic · M
@James25
You don’t have a concept of good.
Your statement has no authority because it wasn’t connected to the Author of the universe; those of Faith understand the Holy Bible to be THE authority since our Father created everything in the universe. If you want to see how it was done I will refer you to Genesis.

@jshm2 your mom does it on the street corner for five bucks while your dad takes pictures with his iPhone
Ynotisay · M
It's an interesting point. Especially given that, in my experience, the most "moral" and "good" people are non-believers. People shouldn't need to be led and trained to be 'good.' That comes from someplace else.
James25 · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay I agree
I’m going to sacrifice a chicken to Moloch…..
James25 · 61-69, M
I won't tell you then.
James25 · 61-69, M
@nonsensiclesnail you just did
@James25 Ive merely implied something, not told.
@NativePortlander1970 Now I understand, sorry to hear that.

Proffesing Christians can be bad examples but know we are not all like this, in fact growing in love is fruits of the spirit.

Not really. The original intent of the Big Bang Theory was to eliminate God from the creation of the universe.

However it is impossible to determine what precipitated the Big Bang and from where all the matter and energy originated.

We will probably never know.
Just had a big blowup with my dad because he wants me to go with my uncle to church and rehearse this song he wants to do with me.

At this point, I won't even set foot in a church.
James25 · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire sorry to hear about that happening to you. That is the problem Christianity tends to try and force others into their Dogma.
