When Jesus was dying on the cross and he said to God "father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing"

Why didn't he tell the people who were crucifying him that they needed to repent and accept him as their savior, or else God wouldn't forgive them and they would be sent to hell forever?
Maybe because his sacrifice saves everyone, whether they believe or not.

@Sweetguy024 According to the biblical fairytale, hell is temporary, just like death is temporary. No one will spend eternity in the Christian hell but some will spend eternity in the Islamic hell. It pays to know your hells.

@Diotrephes At your age you definitely should start contemplating eternity seriously... having one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel...

As long as I don't end up in the Islamic hell I'll be just fine. Even you could end up in the Christia hell but it's just temporary. You'll make bail on Judgment Day and could even get the eternal life you so desire but you might have to soend it outside of the wall around the golden cube.
