@Carazaa, you are right, that His return certainly appears imminent. But Hippy Joe is also right, in that history has certainly given us similar conditions in the past.

Perhaps what was going on in the 1970s were analogous to Braxton-Hicks contractions.

"He is there! No, He is over [i]there[/i]!" I fondly remember the massive posters in some churches, covering entire walls, outlining in the most minute detail the timeline, the clock of which would begin ticking any second.

Not every thing was ready. In fact, we all saw The Wall fall! There was [b][i]peace[/i][/b]! My fellow Sailors breathed a collective sigh of relief.

But it all seems quite different this time. America is no longer the sole superpower. Indeed, one can legitimately question whether the USA can even claim that moniker.

At the same time Joe's points are supported by Peter, because "all things continue as they always have since the creation."

However, Peter also supports your thoughts and conclusions too, Carazza. Because while things are same ol' same ol' it sure seems to be on steroids! It was the scoffers who insisted that nothing of import was really going on.

His return [c=BF0000][b][i]is[/i][/b][/c] imminent. But we're commanded to make disciples until He takes us up. And while we proclaim His Gospel, we're to look up, and keep our ear cocked, listening for that trumpet.

@billybcgn25 Remember the movie The Late Great Planet Earth? The end was to have happened within days of the release of that movie. 40 odd years later..... The point of my posts is that as a Christian the last thing I need to concern myself with is the end of the world. If it ends tomorrow I know where I am going. If it doesn't happen for another thousand years I still know where I am going. Great emotional triumphalism and hand wringing is not the state we Christians should practice. Our end is known.

I think you are unaware of the signs Jesus told us in the last generation!

🕊️ Revelation 14 -An angel will fly mid air and proclaim the gospel to every nation, and then the judgment, Jesus said. We are there now. There were no cell phones in 1970! Most people did not have one. I started listening to Family Radio 1982 that proclaimed the Gospel to part of the world in 1982, not the entire world. Billy graham had televised preaching to part of the world ( I was helping) but not the entire world.

💪 Jesus said that the first sign will be great deception in the last generation, wrong would seem right. Every single government has difficulty and inside disagreements right now. There was very little division compare to now in many countries, especially in my country in Scandinavia.

🛸 Jesus said there would be a falling away from faith in the last generation. Many religions and cults have deceived many the last 100 years.

🛬 Jesus said there would be people going back and forth in the last generation. It took a month to go to USA from Europe by boat before 1900. Horses has been the mode of transportation for 6000 years until 100 years ago. Now people are flying back and forth across the globe in a day.

😡 Iniquity will abound and people will have cold hearts in the last generation. It has drastically increased after 2020, check it out.

📈 Great earthquakes will increase the last generation

🪲 pestilences would increase

💨 Flooding and sea roaring

🦭 Sea life will be dying

🦬 There will be more terrors, and animal attacks

🥑 Famines and poverty will increase.

😏 mocking the Bible will increase

☀️Sun will be hot and burning people

🔥 fires will be burning trees and grass

🌜✨ the moon and stars will give signs in heaven

🚗Knowledge will increase. The last 6000 years knowledge would double after a year or more, now knowledge doubles every few minutes

@Carazaa Why? If we are constantly living our lives in obedience to Him we won't have to worry about when He will return. We will be glad whenever it happens. It's those who are not living correctly who will be ashamed when He returns.

@shuhak Worry? I am looking forward, not worried. Ofcourse God has everything under control even though he is letting Satan roam for a little while. But soon Satan will be bound and Jesus will make all things peaceful!

@Kygirl It is clear that God told us all the sign of the last generation in many parts of the Bible. And we know we are it. The gospel will go out to the whole world and then the end as in Matthew 24, and Revelation 14. We are in Revelation 14 and the next thing is he will come back.

@Carazaa Absolutely. Since Jesus said "NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY AND THE HOUR" our speculation about the day and the hour is an act of deception. Do we know it will happen? Absolutely! Do we wish it were today? YES! Does that mean we should spend hours and hours of our day speculating about His return? ABSOLUTELY NOT! We are to be about our task of making disciples and loving our neighbors and helping the disadvantaged and praying that the LORD'S WILL be done. Working ourselves into a frenzy over something we have no idea of the timing thereof is not spending our time productively.

Jesus warned us that the first sign is deception! Please be careful! We are the last generation that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24 because only our generation has seen[b] all t[/b]he signs.
-Only we have had smart phones to proclaim the gospel all over the world.

-Jesus warned us about the 5 virgins who were "christians" but didn't watch and pray in 1 Thess. The door shut and they didn't get into heaven.

-Jesus warned us that many will say in that day we preached in your name but I will say to you, "I never knew you"

@Carazaa So Jesus was lying when He said that God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall have ever lasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but rather so that through Him the world might be saved. John 3:16,17

@BritishFailedAesthetic Not my grandma, she said Jesus can't come yet 50 years ago when she spoke to me, because there weren't cold hearts, nor the gospel going out to every country. Now all the signs are there at the same time in every country. I haven't thought about what she said until about 2015 and now the signs are all here what he said for the last generation.

@Carazaa And you can really see it in the Anglican/Episcopal church..... it's my denomination but I go to a non denominational church bible believing church with my wife.

@BritishFailedAesthetic It's kind of a challenge to find a really Biblical church. But no church is perfect we should be in fellowship though so good that you are in a church.

@Carazaa so why are you sonfixated in technology? Why do you assume it is a sign of the end times? Why aren't you living your neighbors instead of being so focussed on the end times? I mean really what is so important about the end times? Yes they will happen. When? We don't know. But we have work to do. Let us get to work so that no one is left behind!

@hippyjoe1955 Why because it is a new world that is coming soon, and people need to know. And I am doing everything I can with my money, in my work, and in my neighborhood.

@Carazaa And we are still living in the old world with a lot of work to be done bringing people to Christ. You are accusing others of being deceived when they simply point out that the end times are fun to speculate on but must not change our outlook except to work all the harder to bring more people in. We have a limited time and we need to be at our task not kicking back because the world will end soon.
