@Thinkerbell [c=BF0000]"The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."[/c] Matthew 24: 50

@Thinkerbell Sadly I have known too many Christians who got off the rails because they thought the end was here and 30 years later still have not gone to workin the Kingdom. BTW I mentioned my ancestors one of which started a Baptist Church everywhere he settled. The town near where I grew up has picture of the sod church he built. It was soon replaced by one made out of wood.

@hippyjoe1955
"going off the rails"
You have a cold heart hippyjoe! There is no evidence you have the love of Jesus in your heart!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa You judge me on that because I don't want to speculate on end times? Really? Jesus called people good and faithful servants who were still at their task when He took them to be with Him. I am still at work trying to convert people from heathen to Christian. I have a family of Muslims who are contemplating change. Please pray for them instead of accusing me of not caring.

@hippyjoe1955 No, you are abusive!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa Who pray tell am I abusing? The fact is your reaction to me tells me that you are kicking against the goads.

@Thinkerbell The Day of the Lord; 1 Thess 5
…3While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief. 5For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness.…

@Carazaa

The only significance of the verses you have quoted to me is that Christians should be PREPARED for the end times, not that anyone on Earth knows WHEN those times shall come.
Carazaa · F
@Thinkerbell Either we live for Jesus or we don't. He will make all things new, so I look for him everyday. Noah was the only one who trusted in the Lord and only he was saved.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Thinkerbell Now who was it that said "No man knows the hour and the day of the Son of Man's return but only the Father in Heaven. Now who was that? Thinking long and hard......
Carazaa · F
@hippyjoe1955 Don't be deceived, Jesus said!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa Absolutely. Since Jesus said "NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY AND THE HOUR" our speculation about the day and the hour is an act of deception. Do we know it will happen? Absolutely! Do we wish it were today? YES! Does that mean we should spend hours and hours of our day speculating about His return? ABSOLUTELY NOT! We are to be about our task of making disciples and loving our neighbors and helping the disadvantaged and praying that the LORD'S WILL be done. Working ourselves into a frenzy over something we have no idea of the timing thereof is not spending our time productively.
Carazaa · F
@hippyjoe1955 He will come any day! So don't fall asleep!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Carazaa You better get to work. His return is soon and you are engaged in idle speculation and judging other Men's servants. Time for you to actually care about those who are not yet part of the Kingdom.
