Christians believe that God answers prayers and does miraculous healings...but why does he never ever heal an amputee?

I know this feels like a gotcha question and maybe on some level it is but mainly i'm just really curious about what Christians think the answer is.
I watched a video where this question was addressed by a panel of Christians and i was eager to finally hear some theological explanation for this problematic oversight....i was disappointed.
The completely failed to answer the question and pretended the question was more like "why doesn't god heal everyone all the time"

God seems to heal mental illness or diseases like cancer which are known to go into spontaneous remission and help people find their keys or get needed money from unexpected sources...but never grows so much as a finger back.

So, Christians....why has God never healed a single amputee?

From the point of view of an atheist...

Some Christians might answer that God doesn't provide miracles just because someone believes and asks; he has a purpose and plan which has a far wider scope than any human could grasp, and it may be that he caused the amputation because that person had a specific spiritual journey that required a disability in order to learn.

(I actually know someone with a similar view, A man who was paralysed for the C7 vertebra down, no longer able to get around without a wheelchair. He lost the ability to have erections. But he said it was the best thing that ever happened to him. He had been a promiscuous player who used women. Through his disability, he learned how to have an emotional orgasm in his brain, how to give a woman pleasure, and how to have an intimate and long lasting relationship with deep love. He said he'd never give that up or trade it for anything.)

But as for the rest of the "miracle" cures of things that can go into spontaneous remission - we now know that the mind, emotions and body are not separate but one-in-the-same, even down to the levels of molecules, atoms and electrical charges. Thus, what a person believes at the deepest levels of the unconscious has a profound effect on their bodily chemistry and all internal processes. Christians and other theist might not believe it - but certainly we know that the placebo effect accounts for about one third of all healing.
