Religions are chock full with people who are not perfect, because they NEED to feel closer to God in any way they can.

My cousin used to say that sometimes, you could open up the doors of her church and the stink would rise to high heaven.

If those imperfect people were perfect, they would no longer be on this earth. And TBH, some people don't have the intelligence to translate religion into gospel.

Oh god, nothing does. Christians hold power over most of the Western world. They're doing just fine. But if you'd like to know what does the most harm to society today, the answer might be Christianity. Not trying to be ugly about it but it does so much damage it's hard not to be.

@SW-User And why is that when there so few of us left? Don't you think that you can start persecuting a minority with thinking like that?

@val70 There are more Christians than any other religion on earth. I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. Christians will, unfortunately continue to be the majority on this planet unless perhaps at some point Islam overtakes their numbers but should that be the case in global numbers, it will still be a large Christian majority in the United States.

If what you wrote in your response is actually what you think, I guess I'm happy to share the good news that you are not a part of a minority (only applying to religion since I don't know the rest of your ethnicity) and other than in parts of China and several middle eastern nations, Christians are not only not persecuted they are the ruling class. I will concede much of Europe does a better job of separating church and state than Americans do but that doesn't in any way translate to persecution.

There is a lot of insight here with which I agree. For many people, their worship seems more focused on themselves, but in the name of God. Self worship, even? I would like to hope that we all recognise the need for humility instead, and compassion for others, not indirect assertion of our (perceived) superiority.
I've seen more Christians persecuted by fellow Christians than any other group.

@BlueSkyKing Nah, faith is already defined in a dictionary as "a strong belief in the doctrines of a religion based on spiritual conviction rather than proof". One can't say that faith is that and then start to criticize it for it too.
Really not sure where you are going with this.
