How could the Biblical End Times be any worse than the extinction events Earth has already experienced? Behold: The End Permian Extinction

The oceans turning to acid which over huge areas was as hot as a hot tub and had no oxygen.

Poisonous tides full of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide each of which would have been deadly on their own.

An area the size of a large country just exploding as the massive coal layers ignited from volcanic activity with a literal ocean of lava covering the land several kilometers deep.

Fogs of neurotoxins blasting out of these volcanoes and the ozone layer being stripped away allowing intense radiation to reach the planet surface.

Storms of acid rain, temperatures jumping 25 degrees hotter and CO2 saturation to the point where not even insects could survive.

And to top it all off, Hypercanes: Massive hurricanes 3 times teh size of the largest recorded hurricains with wind speeds 200 mph faster than the fastest recorded speed. Capable of crossing entire continents without dissipating.
Hypercanes not bad enough? Well remember that the oceans were turning to acide and poison so the water that made these hypercanes was also poisonous.

Holy shit.

I remember in the years 1989 and 90 and seeing all these televangelists predicting the rapture like it was going to be tomorrow.

I asked my dad, "If there is suppose to be some rapture and end of the world,how come people are living life like nothing is going to happen?"

He just said, "Oh preachers have been saying that for 2,000 years."
@CestManan

There's probably an app for that, yeah lol

Well, for starters, sapient beings that can understand their own mortality would be experiencing it.
@OggggO

Hmm True, true.
But i guess i mean in terms of events. The end Permian seems about as apocalyptic as it can get! lol

The Biblical version has more post-extinction bureaucracy.

The gods know your internet history.
