Christianity is true because billions of people follow it, but 99.99% of them are doing it wrong and aren’t real Christians.
To be fair, not all of them feel this way.

lol As they say: there are almost as many forms of Christianity as there are Christians.
But indeed, not all Christians think that way.

I'm sure that's not what Jesus himself would have wanted. Why can't all these dissenting Christians see that?
@NankerPhelge
Indeed.
They exclude other Christians for not practicing Christianity they way god wants....when "what god wants" is only the interpretation of men.

@NankerPhelge Let's be frank: many resemble the religious hypocrites he openly dismantled - and I think he confronted them, as much as anything, to teach his followers what NOT to be.
There's a lot of:
- Self righteousness
- Blaming the poor after their master Rupert Murdoch et al.
- Lack of empathy and compassion
- Hard heartedness
- Division & exclusivity over minor things "Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said."
- Building kingdoms on earth and pursuing wealth in material manner or inculcation of existentialism for which they are often unaware.
But I'll repeat it. Very little of this in any of the churches I have ever been involved in over decades. But it's about and very loud. I find it frustrating, but people are social creatures and adopt what's around them.

@Abstraction I only adopt what's around me if it conforms to what I've already believed in since I was in primary school. If it doesn't, I am inclined to reject it. I always thought that's how all normal people were.

It's funny here in the deep South. Pretty much everyone affirms sola fide, justification by faith alone. And pretty much every affirms that once saved, always saved. Despite one's sin, one is forgiven. And nobody would deny that it is God, at judgement, who determines who is going to hell and who is saved. Yet pretty much everyone knows who is saved and isn't. Who is going to hell and who isn't. And they will tell you.

You are not wrong

@Pikachu I’m very well known here for being called a lukewarm and fake Christian. Some have even said I’m a member of Satan’s army working to deceive Christians. It used to really bother me and make me question my faith until I realized they would not be standing next to God, whispering my sins to Him in my judgement day. They will have their own to answer for since only God knows what’s in my soul.
@Pinkstarburst
Yeah according the Christianity, the only one whose judgement ultimately matters is god's.
If you think you're doing your best to be a Christian then other Christians can get fucked if they think you're doing it wrong.

It's part of the history of (esp.) the christological part of theology. The Church split up several times over Christology, and then movements reacting to the status quo took it further, including forming cults.
All of which is accompanied by lots of distinguishing one set of beliefs from very similar other ones.

To be honest, if someone isn’t actually obedient to God and living righteously they’re really living more like you than like Christ
@th3r0n
Hmm...so in response to being challenged with an alternate interpretation of what it means to be a good Christian, you response by call me ignorant, without a clue, foolish...
...and you determine what it "really says" based on your interpretation and condemn any conflicting interpretation as against the word of god.
My point exactly.
lol And so i thank you one final time for proving my point unequivocally.
If i could pin that as Best Comment then i would😉

not some foolish interpretation but what it really says

That seems to be religious people in general. I've seen Muslims do it as well. Religious people love gatekeeping.
@SW-User
Very true. Although i bet we could find that gatekeeping behaviour in virtually every group.

Most religious people worship their religion more than their god.

I get your point, but your wording is a stereotype that doesn't match most Christians I know. At all. Genuinely that's my experience. So, yes, you're wrong in overstating the category.
But there are plenty who do that. "If there's one thing many Christians do..." "If there's one thing many republicans/democrats do..."
