Well worth refreshing ...

Okay, so I read the article. It's mostly about the origins of the religious right movement and a lot about their original goal to support segregation in society and gooyd they didn't really care about abortion itself and often supported it.

I've read much of this before.

Now, assuming this is all true (which we here don't know), how does overturning Roe help in any way with promoting segregation?? If their real goal was segregation and not abortion bans, then how does this weeks news help their cause??
@sarabee1995 It sets a precedent for overturning previously established Supreme Court opinions. Segregation was ended by a Supreme Court opinion.

@CorvusBlackthorne And you seriously believe the real goal today, in 2022, is the re-establishment of segregation!?!?

Sorry. That's just crazy.
@sarabee1995 At the moment, I believe their goal is to reverse the decision legalizing homosexual marriage. But don't think it is far behind.

@sarabee1995 I think the decision will disproportionately impact some economically disadvantaged ethnic groups. No, I don't think there is a coherent plan to re-establish segregation, but acts such as this help to further marginalise some social groups and indirectly lead to similar outcomes 😞
