Christians who believe the world is about it end: Do you think children should still be going through school?

If the End Times are now and Jesus' return is imminent, do you feel it's a waste of time and money for kids to be going to school and learning math, science, history, sociology etc?
It's it a waste of time to teach kids to drive? A waste of time to vote?
If you believe most of us will be dead and some of you will be taken up to Heaven within your life, what point is there in learning anything beyond how to be a good Christian?
Should you allow your child to read anything but the Bible?

First of all, most "Christians" are listening to their pastors and very few pastors are teaching truth because they went to seminary where they were taught "Seminary" not influenced by just God and the Bible.

I know we have very little time left and we are the last generation, none of the pastors I have talked with agree. Many churches are just concerned with daily things, politiks, money, building a congregation, flirting, molesting people's wives, etc. Sorry but it is another sign of the end. Infact many aren't even saved. I heard firsthand of one who killed himself after he ruined a family after he molested a wife of someone in the congregation. These people are not preaching Christs return. We are in the last days when people are "asleep" as Jesus told us as a sign.

You look on the internet and you think many are thinking we are in the last days but that is a misconception. The entire world is on the web and it's no more than a few people that are prepared for his return. Noah and his 7 relatives were the only people God saved, not many.

We are living in the last days, that is a certainty. We are to live in the world, and if we are in a math class we are to shine for Jesus there because most there, or anywhere, are not Christians so we are to witness everywhere until he comes.

Paul thought so too. He was wrong.
And every generation of Christian since then has thought so too. They were wrong.
There are very few people who "know the truth" of flat Earth as well but that doesn't make them right.

But this thread isn't about arguing the relative likelihood that this generation is finally the last one.
The question is, if this is indeed the last generation, is there any point to Christians who believe this teaching their kids about anything except their religion?

@Pikachu I addressed that very well. Please read my answer carefully again!

Sorry, you're gonna have to make it more explicit for me.
It seems like your response is just about how organized religion is corrupt, there are false Christians in the church and the end times are definitely nigh.

I'm not seeing an answer to why children should still be wasting their time learning about science, math, sociology etc if they won't even grow middle aged before the world ends.

@Pikachu Well to your point, If we're talking bout Paul, He also taught to take care to "train our bodies"... exercise... He spent a lot of time learning what people believed and studying... He studied his whole life.
Living like Christ is finna return at any moment, according to Paul, is just living life to the max in good conscience to the commands that you've been given.

@SW-User

Well exactly.
The focus should be on learning and living as a good Christian. What's the point of all this other worldly knowledge and should we be spending time on learning that when the end is so near and all that matters is getting right with god?

@Pikachu Sorry but I believe atheists have problems with logical thinking! You just proved this

[big]I repeat,[/big]
We are living in the last days, that is a certainty. We are to live in the world, and if we are in a math class we are to shine for Jesus there because most there, or anywhere, are not Christians so we are to witness everywhere until he comes.
I just said We are to continue living because we are in the last days so we need to witness, whether we are in kindergarten or medical school!

@SW-User

Very true. There's a lot to this life that cannot be learned from the bible.
But who cares about any of that if the world is about to end?
Beyond the bare necessities of living, is there any point to learning more at this stage?
SW-User
@Carazaa Do not resort to insults. I can assure you there is no lack of logic in this person we're talking to. The fact that you feel the need to use an ad hominem attack to get your point across is evidence to your weaker logical abilities.
SW-User
@Pikachu Well this is how I live my life. I'll show you. I've been looking for truth my entire life. I was buddhist and atheist and nihilist and this and that and the other thing.

But here's the thing. I believe Christ could come back in 20 minutes if that was the plan.
I live my life like that. I make my decisions not knowing if I will wake up tomorrow. (Part of this is to do with the fact that I depend on a pacemaker.)
And yeah, I still learn daily because it keeps my mind sharp. I read daily, I spend time with my wife and kiddo.
I live everyday like it's the end of my world daily... and I find value in Learning in that.

I can't speak for anyone else but that's me.

I'm getting pretty fucking sick of hearing about failure of logic from a person whose general response to disconfirming evidence is to declare that it is all assumptions and to affirm that you reject "human science" in favour of religious belief.

I admit that i checked out before i got to the end. That's my bad but it is failure of attention, not of logic.

Didn't you say that you wished you'd only given your children the bible to read?
Is "witnessing" by being good in math class more important than concentrating on being saved?
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu Your question is very good. But I made my point very well and "Christians" who are not born again, are not really in the word, they DO NOT believe Jesus is coming, so they pull their kids away from people including schools, and they listen to their pastors, and they are asleep just like Jesus said! Instead of witnessing and telling their kids to witness in school BECAUSE we have just a little time left!
Pikachu ·
@SW-User

Well i think that's a good way to live, Christian or not. I think there's great value in learning as much as we can.
I just wonder if the priority is salvation then should we be spending time on such superfluous endeavors?
SW-User
@Pikachu Well the thing is, Salvation is a quick and easy thing.
You recognize Messiah Died for your sin
You accept the payment he made
Bingo Bingo good to go-go

The rest is sanctification - being transformed and living a life that Honors Christ
That's where the learning and the self improvement and gardening and such comes in
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu You don't even read my answers, unbelievable!
Pikachu ·
@Carazaa

I think you gave an answer which i'm interested to explore more.
Isn't witnessing about spreading the good word? That seems like the right way to spend one's time if one believes the world is about to end...but how are you "witnessing" by doing well in school? How is that bring anyone else to Christ or making sure that your soul is prepared?

lol my dude. I read 95% of your answer but it was all about how pastors are bad and churchgoers are molesting wives. It wasn't until the second half of your last paragraph that you actually answered the question.

Yes, it was wrong of me to lose interest. But maybe you can meet me half way and make your answers a little more pertinent✌️
SW-User
@Carazaa Why are you upset?
Carazaa · F
@SW-User Because I spent an hour praying about my answer and read my Bible and wrote a good answer and he didn't read it, and my point is made that Christians are asleep and don't even know Jesus is coming. I am so upset I am leaving this site.
Pikachu ·
@Carazaa

I'm sorry i upset you. But i did read your answer...all but the last sentence or two.
I should have read it all.

@Carazaa ok bye buddy 👋
