I think Peter denied Jesus three times because God moved him to do so in order that he might survive to be a powerful church father.

According to the fairy tale, all liars will be barred from the golden cube. Peter was a proven liar so how can he sit on a throne and judge one of the twelve tribes of Israel and be rewarded as a faithful servant? He violated the First Commandment.
