I think Peter denied Jesus three times because God moved him to do so in order that he might survive to be a powerful church father.

God does not control our behaviors. He tries to influence us, and he warns us. Why did Peter deny Jesus three times? It was to prove that Jesus knew the future, to prove he is God's Son. He did and said what he said for one reason, to show he is a loving God who cares about us.

He told so many prophesies, and did so many miracles, and raised people from the dead, and himself too. The only thing he did not know when he was down here was the day he would come back. But he told us the signs of the last generation and he said that it would happen when the gospel had reached the whole world. So we know he told the truth.
@Carazaa
His denial proves that Jesus knew the future but i think the source of his denial was an influence for a higher purpose.

@Pikachu OK like what?
@Carazaa
Well like i said: so that Peter could survive to become an important figure in the newly budding church.

@Pikachu Well he was an apostle yes, but a shameful one since he didn't really realize that Jesus was even who he was until he rose from the dead like the other apostles. They all had little faith and doubting even after they saw many miracles, until they saw the resurrections after he was killed, and he ascended into the clouds.
@Carazaa

Presumably all part of the plan🤷‍♀️
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu And the plan was for what purpose if there was a plan?
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu So when Jesus said to Peter "You of little faith" and chastised him, when he asked why he couldn't cast out demons like Jesus, that was also part of the plan?
@Carazaa

Isn't everything part of god's plan?
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu

No, God doesn't desire that we sin.

What men meant for evil; God meant for good. "All things turn out for good for those who love God."
@Carazaa

Of course he doesn't desire it but he knows we will and so incorporates it into his plan. To say otherwise is to suggest that humans are subverting god's plan.

@Pikachu Very true! You're learning 😁

@Carazaa Are you really judging Peter calling him shameful, even though he eventually died for Jesus? Are you saying you would have known Jesus was God? Are you happy for God to judge you that way?
Carazaa · F
@Zeusdelight I think Peter would agree with me, hence he changed his mind 😝
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Carazaa And naturally, you are saying Jesus knew the future, once again putting Him as a God on earth rather than as a human.
Carazaa · F
@Zeusdelight God expects us to behave. He didn't just deny Jesus as God's Son. He denied that he was one of Jesus apostle, he lied! 🤨

@Carazaa Two questions, two answers not responding directly to the questions. Bye for now.
