Two questions...
1. Which translation?
2. Will you be moving on to the Apocrypha to read just what the Church didn't want you to read about Christianity and left out of the approved Bible?
3. If the Jewish god said you will have no other gods "before me", does that mean he/she/it was admitting to the existence of other gods and just demanding the Jewish people worship him/her/it as more important than those other gods?

2) Maybe, but there's some other books i want to read first.
3) I think the OT definitely points in some places to the polytheistic nature of the religions it grew out of.
