Well i've finished the whole ding dang Bible, cover to cover! Can't say i've become Christian but im basically a Bible scholar now lol. Any questions?

Overall a good read though.
Lots of good characters, compelling stories and tragic ones. Sexy bits, funny bits, epic bits.
Some good messages and some bad ones. Could use a little bit of pruning down of the repetitive parts but all in all i give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars!

This is the background music i chose to read Revelation to because my normal stuff was not epic enough lol.

Now return it to the library and make sure to put it into the "Fantasy" section

And finally move to something more pleasurable like the Lord of the Rings

I've read it a few times and it's still a load of horse shit.

@1354swrdt You're talking about yourself again. 🤣

Good, you finally admit it. Well done!

Really glad you have read the Bible through but become a ‘scholar’? I think you’ll find that this piece of literature has been the subject of more books than any other so I think you’ve got quite a bit to go! 😊

I’m sorry for you@Sharon

@1354swrdt Think what you like, it doesn't hurt me.

As a guide to how to lead a moral life, it's ok if you leave out all the supernatural nonsense of the magical sky fairy. It's obviously also written by Men who were seeking to control others and keep them in line so a lot of it is pure fiction and fantasy. Tell anyone a story and if we were able to move into the future 500 years it would be comical to see what that story has become being retold time after time...
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@GeniUs 🥱
@spjennifer

Yeah that's my impression too. There's some good moral guidance there. Especially in the NT. Just ignore that pretty shitty moral parts and enjoy the supernatural stories.

@Pikachu Fantasy and fiction is always fun to read, specially when there's some sex thrown in with it, lol 😄

You read the New Living Translation version? lol. That's a false Bible. The only true Bible and preserved Word of God in the English language is the King James Bible. The modern Bible versions have removed scriptures, added scriptures, twisted scriptures and are filled with many contradictions and absurdities. Modern Bible versions have been corrupted. Start over. Read the real Bible - get yourself an Authorized King James Bible and in the meantime, educate yourself on the Bible version issue and watch this documentary:

@SW-User

lol bible snob.
@SW-User Just to further prove my point. The later chapters of the Gospel of Mark are now widely accepted among scholars to be outright forgeries.
walabby · 61-69, M
@SW-User So, translating already dubious text into 16th century English somehow makes it perfect and holy??? HA! XD
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Two questions...

1. Which translation?

2. Will you be moving on to the Apocrypha to read just what the Church didn't want you to read about Christianity and left out of the approved Bible?

3. If the Jewish god said you will have no other gods "before me", does that mean he/she/it was admitting to the existence of other gods and just demanding the Jewish people worship him/her/it as more important than those other gods?
@ChipmunkErnie Well that was three but i'll forgive you😜

1) New Living Translation

2) Maybe, but there's some other books i want to read first.

3) I think the OT definitely points in some places to the polytheistic nature of the religions it grew out of.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Pikachu Ooops, I renumbered the questions but forgot to change the intro. LOL
That is a generous score. Lol
@GeniUs

lol the fuckin thing that really wound me up was describing the offerings that the 12 tribes of Israel brought. A silver plate weighing this much and a brass bowl weighing this much and so on....exactly the same thing fucking 12 times!!!🤬
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@Pikachu makes you realise that isn't exactly what god would be telling us.
@GeniUs Among other things
Which one? There are several versions. Some don't even include the same books.
1354swrdt · 70-79, M
Sorry mate I didn’t. I said it was in common Greek. The spoken Greek of the day. Read what I said. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
@1354swrdt Common language implies current usage. Not dialects from 2000 years ago. Nice attempt to move the goalposts.
@1354swrdt

lol yes i'm aware. And the NTL is generally considered a good one.
Sharon · F
I read it once but all the contradictions made it very difficult to follow.
CestManan · 46-50, F
Milk exploding.
THAT IS FUCKIN METAL!! WOOOOOOO! 🤘
I would like to re-read the pentateuch. Well not numbers lol. I liked Moses and the Bible is more fun when god is actively speaking and interacting. Those Israelites though. Het a grip, my dudes! lol.
Obviously the story of Samson is hilarious and must read it again.
Keraunos · 36-40, M
Better have read all the Pseudepigrapha in the Orthodox and Ethiopian canons, or you were playing on easy mode.
@Keraunos Who hasn't?
SW-User
Are you Ned Flanders cos I sure as hell heard his voice when I read “ding dang bible” 🤔
@SW-User lol there's no way to know
SW-User
Yeah yeah hi Ned 🥂😁@Pikachu
haha, you’re my favorite now
@deathfairy

lol thanks
