I do believe that to an extent here in the U.S. would be a so called violation of "Church and State". It would justify other religions calling for their religious symbols to be placed in state buildings.
@soar2newhighs Which is why we need a real Catholic government to declare Catholicism the state religion. I'm not saying that's going to happen anytime soon, it's just what I think should happen.
I'm Catholic, but I disagree with what you think should happen. Stop and think about religion, be it Catholicism, Islam, two that have forced their beliefs on others through very brutal means. You no doubt have seen it with ISIS and other Muslim jihadist groups, and it was prevalent when Catholic Missionaries came to the western Hemisphere, particularly in the Islands and parts of Central and South America, and their treatment of the indigenous people under the guise of conversion. Then too, let us as Catholics not forget the atrocity of something known as the "Spanish Inquisition". My point in short-religion is the bane of mankind.@GoodCatholicGirl

@soar2newhighs you are all right catholic killed protestant
@soar2newhighs Well as I said before on this thread, I don't think we should force people to believe anything. Definitely not like ISIS does. I just think our laws should be based on Medieval Catholicism.
On Medieval Catholicism? No, again I disagree with that notion as well. What the Catholic church needs to do is accept its failings in many areas past and present and reform and reign itself in.@GoodCatholicGirl
@soar2newhighs Well we're trying secularism and that's not working very well.

@soar2newhighs it is exact
You know the Pope calls for helping the poor sharing with them. Fine, right after the Vatican opens it coffers and dispenses the wealth it has; then perhaps a following will occur. there's a difference between a "parish priest" and the Vatican's Pope.@GoodCatholicGirl
@soar2newhighs There was a lot more charity during the Middle Ages. It's a shame, but the Roman Catholic Church hasn't lived up to the true religion of Christianity since the Enlightenment messed everything up.
To get back to the original post and point. You think the symbols should be in state buildings. I do not. What goes on in Bavaria is NOT the United States. Have a good weekend.@GoodCatholicGirl
