It wasn't just the slap... but the whole situation (and what led up to it) put a dark cloud over WS. And it happened a while back.

@Ontheroad Right, most of his movies have good reviews. He won the Best Actor oscar last year for King Richard. Perhaps, critics are punishing him for the fiasco that occurred at last year's Oscars.
