How come everyone is talking about Will Smith

Hitting Chris Rock yet no one is talking about Chris Rock making fun of someone’s illness?

1. They are
2. Comedians are allowed to make jokes and are invited to do so. Chris Rock was invited and material screened.
3. It was barely a joke.
4. battery is illegal.
5. Will Smith lets men fuck his wife, but goes crazy when he sees her pissed off at a half-joke.
6. If Jada has what she says she has it's a very mild case.
7. Jada looks great bald, anyway, and we all know it.
@Human1000 It’s Amora.

@Human1000 Okay, first of all, what does the fact that she cheated on him have to do with this? You just threw that in as a judgment of his character, which, what the fuck? He forgave her. Maybe you wouldn't, but he did. That has nothing to do with this.

Secondly, I'm guessing that you would just sit there if somebody was making fun of your wife, girlfriend, or whatever, for having a debilitating autoimmune disease, am I right? You wouldn't do anything about it?

Third, you don't know jack shit about Jada, apart from what Jada wants you to know, just like any other celebrity. So for you to say that it must be a mild case, I'm going to need to see your medical degree.

You're right about one thing, though. It was barely a joke. Chris Rock went for the low hanging fruit that no decent person would touch.

@LordShadowfire I think it goes to his insecurity as a man and his odd ego formation. I don't think he's well.

I don't see the insult that way, and no, I would not have committed battery.

I know a lot about Jada because of the interviews she gives.
@LordShadowfire it’s not clear he knew that she had the disease. Also, as an artist (musician and poet,) I create art that some might find uncomfortable or distasteful but it sets a bad precedent if we think it is ok to assault people doing their craft, even for a joke in extremely poor taste. I as a female would be possibly be now scared to tell a joke and have a man decide to Will Smith me. I do agree that attacks on his character have no place and I also get why he did what he did, but we have to agree that it is not right to attack artists and comedians.
@Human1000 So in a hypothetical situation where your wife has an autoimmune disease that causes her hair to fall out, you would do nothing if somebody was making fun of her. Just checking.

As to your amateur psychoanalysis of Will, I don't think any celebrity is really well. They stroke their egos by performing for millions of people and act like they are doing us a favor by allowing us to exist in the same universe as them. I will give you this. What he did was the action of an insecure man, but not for the reason you think. He was laughing at first, because he didn't realize how much it was hurting Jada to hear the barely-a-joke. When he saw the look on her face, that's when he charged the stage. What we didn't see was her glaring at him with that look only women have perfected. That look of "Boy, I KNOW you ain't laughing at this shit, because I KNOW you don't want to sleep in the backyard tonight. So he felt the need to prove to her that he agreed the joke wasn't okay.

Which, I'm sorry you think it was.
@Human1000 you may know some because of the interviews but internal motivations for this are completely speculative. The facts are it’s wrong and potentially illegal to assault anyone, including a comedian performing. I feel like I understand his motivation, but that is also speculation. It was wrong. Period.
@DarkHeaven @Human1000 I should take a moment to state that I still don't think what he did was right, but I also don't think he should do time over it. But if Chris didn't know about Jada's alopecia, I'll eat my hat.
@LordShadowfire I’m just saying it’s not clear that he did, but even if he did… it’s not all right to assault artists. That being said, it was a slap… he didn’t beat him senseless.
Human1000 · M
@LordShadowfire I wouldn't commit battery. Pretty simple rule I follow. I agree with your analysis of Jada and the look.
Human1000 · M
@DarkHeaven I don't claim 100% certainty, but it's not complete speculation. She really does reveal a lot.
@Human1000 completely speculative. However, this is funny.

@DarkHeaven Well, there it is!
@Human1000 and this. 🤣

@Human1000 I mean, Will played right into his hands by pulling that. Folks now think of Chris as the victim.

I'll tell you what I'd like to think I would have done. Sat there shooting daggers at Chris the rest of the night, and then worked something into my acceptance speech about Jada's struggle with alopecia, dealing with the haters, and how hard it's been with society's expectations of what a woman's hair should look like. It's not hard to make an assbucket look like an assbucket if you know what you're doing.
Human1000 · M
@LordShadowfire Saving it for the speech would have been fine! I do see Chris as a victim of a battery.
@Human1000 but to be fair… it was a slap. I’m not saying it’s right… but it was a slap.
@Human1000 So if your girlfriend walked up and slapped you for something you said, you'd call the police?
Human1000 · M
@DarkHeaven Thank goodness it was only a slap. Will Smith is big dude, in shape, and trained as a boxer for Ali. He could have seriously hurt Chris Rock who was not defending himself. Could have killed him in fact.
@Human1000 if… and only if… he had struck him, and he clearly did not and Chris was in virtually no danger of that based on what he did do. We can’t hold people responsible for what they could do if they did something other than what they did. We have to go based on what was actually done.
Human1000 · M
@LordShadowfire I suppose I'm not smart enough to understand your analogy.
@Human1000 again, I’m much more worried about the precedent that could be set for artists and comedians than I am for some man slapping another man on stage after insulting his wife.
Human1000 · M
@DarkHeaven That is a legitimate concern. Definitely will be tamer going forward.
@Human1000 Well, THERE YA GO! You call it assault, you call it battery, and then you finally admit that it could have been a hell of a lot worse. I mean, Chris was laughing, showing no signs of any ill effects, other than the fact that his mouth probably hurt like hell. Honestly, I think he held back.
Human1000 · M
@LordShadowfire Yes, it was assault and battery and could have been worse. I guess I don't see why that is a problematic position.
@Human1000 We’ve had nice talks before (earlier today in fact) but I think I’m done discussing this topic with you ever because you tend keep using inflammatory comments and your own speculation instead of just sticking to the facts, so it makes it really hard to discuss. Be well.
