But at least you know who founded it.
At least you know it's roots and have some idea on the thinking behind it.
Can't say the same for tales of burning bushes; choirs of angels; singular people supposedly addressed by a deity nobody's ever seen telling him specifically to jot down ten ommandments and let everybody else know etc.
Which is the more fanciful ?

@Picklebobble2 the creator was L. Ron Hubbard in 1950....but he was a science fiction writer...the other book was written by ancient whack jobs that went into the caves with noxious fumes and thought they were getting closer to God. then some idiot in charge hired a more idiotic translator who wrote his own version in English to make what we all call the bible. Then they jailed and then killed the translator....then stored away the mess he made and then someone even more idiotic pulled it out of moth balls to use to control the masses.

All religions are works of fiction. This one, in particular, is very interesting. There's a Netflix documentary about it. The documentary does not involve the scientology history appropriately, and that by itself is a different level of crazy, involving the occult, Hollywood orgies in the 30s and 40s.

@LILY61 He could come out now. He would help others. Instead of sneaking around with men. Being openly gay seems to be more acceptable these days.
@PoetryNEmotion maybe he just doesn't feel like it. it IS his life ya know. his sexual orientation is his own business, not someone elses. Do YOU go into a room of strangers and announce Your sexual orientation?

I could never figure out exactly what scientology was. Lits of celebrities and wealthy people follow that cult. Must be something to it. All the secrecy. Who knows?
@PoetryNEmotion it is just a way to keep themselves separated from the pack. the book was written by L Ron Hubbard...a science fiction writer. why people chose to believe it is beyond me

@LILY61 I tried to read it years ago. Never made sense.
@PoetryNEmotion then you must be sane....sorry to inform you

More people would have believed it if it was found like 1500 years ago.

It's just for money hoarding. Made to function like any social club. And a business.

If there’s money to be made, people will believe anything
