Was walking twords' the entrance...

An assortment of doors...

Some automatic.. some old school ya gotta...pull.

As I'm headed in.... bout' 30 feet ETA...

This elderly man paused.....waited for me to land...and held it open.

What he garnered was a thank you, the best wink I could whip out and a smile hope lit up his day.

Stay chivalrous my friends.

It's a sad etiquette lost to so many in today's world. Rudeness outweighs it and seems more the norm.
Often I have waited and held a door when I take note of someone approaching as I'm about to enter. Male or female but the female gets a longer wait time.
It's an easy and polite thing to do.
As is opening a car door. Another action rarely seen and when done gets a shock reaction as if confused. Society is crumbling before our eyes.
I would hold the door for Bexsy without question but she can't see this and wouldn't know. Apparently I did something bad. I'll never know.
That always makes me smile. And i always hold door open if i get there first.

What's it called if a woman does it? Still chivalry? 🤔

@Bexsy Old school manners are the best. I'll open'em all day.

The term you seek is ladyhood.

That wink and smile would make my day too.

Always open and hold the door.
