The Pope has died.

I suspect he was the first non Christian non Catholic Pope in my life time.

I think he was one of the few Christians within most of popes and most of most of other non catholic preachers.

I have lived under dictatorships.
I preffer to be free.
So and as a free man and at risk of my life, I did my best to put them down.

@ElRengo Agreed. As Jesus said If the Son has set you free you will be free indeed. John 8:36

We agree on the above.
No debate on that.

I am Catholic and I don't wish to speak ill of the dead but in the 2000 years of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis will probably be remembered as one of the worst Popes the Church has ever had. The only thing to say is May God have mercy on his soul.

@Barefooter25 In what way was he the worst Pope??
graphite · 61-69, M
His comments about all religions bringing people toward God and his emphasis on the climate change nonsense certainly were eyebrow-raisers. And he scolded the USA for not openly embracing illegal aliens while the Vatican enacted severe restrictions toward anyone who tried that there.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@graphite We could have done a deal with the Vatican. They take in all of our illegals and in exchange, we take that 700 year old huge border wall that protected the Vatican from invaders. We can place that huge border wall anywhere along the California, New Mexico or Arizona border. If that huge wall can protect the Vatican from invading Turks, it can keep illegals from entering our country.

The first? Hardly. Pretty much all of them (minus Peter who wasn't a pope) were non Christian.
@graphite Peter wasn't a pompous pope 🤭

Lots of the confusion is your misunderstanding- you guys seem to look at evangelicals who take the sinners prayer as a "hocus pocus" and that's it. That's your understanding of 'sola fide'

What you guys call "salvation" is actually sanctification to us.

So when you believe on Christ, you will produce saving evidences and continue growing, not living as if he didn't exist.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I mentioned two categories. Christian and Catholic. While some were Christian most were Catholic. In my life time all the Popes except Frances were at least Catholic.
@graphite I have read about your church many times and I still cannot get how you get saved by Roman Catholic doctrine.

With us it is very simple.

Non-Catholic???
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@msros No he didn't. He was a socialist and had no interest in the poor. He wanted the poor to be someone else's problem.

@hippyjoe1955 And Did he invite you to a private dinner to discuss all these essential things?
