My generation’s war was Viet Nam and we remember those lost, and honor their service and sacrifice. And so many men and women since then have given their all serving in this nation’s military. May we remember all our veterans for their service and sacrifice this Memorial Day weekend, and may they Rest in Peace.
I respect the sacrifice and commitment of those who gave their lives or suffered permanent injuries. I also think it's a shame we don't have laws allowing those affected veterans to sue the politicians and warmongers, who got us into both the Vietnam and Iraq wars.
I have ultimate respect for the men and women who do their duty (I'll exclude the ones who crazily use war to carry on as criminals), I'm not too fond of the leadership that sends them out to places they have no business being.
@Khenpal1 When a nation decides to be allied with other nations at war, those nations drag their people into it whether they want to be or not, ergo Laos…and why civilians died= collateral damage.
@swirlie Your views and opinions on the U.S. and its entry into WW2 indicate you don’t really understand the involvement of the U.S. into the Second World War. And when we ( the U.S.) did go to war the European theater was given priority over the Pacific theater which IMO was a tougher war than Europe.
And if my views do not align with yours that does not mean I have a chip on my shoulder..
