And, by the way, there is a historical narrative that, I believe, began during the Revolutionary War in which the family of a soldier or sailor who left to fight against tyranny lit a candle, and left it burning in a window. Today, parents and family of loved ones in the military generally place an electric candle in a prominent window, where it burns day and night until that loved one returns home. You should get yours, and put it on a window sill and do the same as a way of honoring them until they return home.

I have been praying the US would pull its troops since before the conflict began. My cousin's son in the CAF was stationed in Poland a few years ago. Fortunately for him there was no conflict in the region. He has since quit the forces and found civilian employment.
