Is this possible?

A spokesman for the administration said in the last 24 hours, 15,000 people were evacuated from Afghanistan. Is that even possible?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
He also said 35 U.S. military cargo planes alone, not counting charter flights, other nation's military, and civilian airliners. U.S. military cargo planes can carry up to 400, so had the capacity for 14,000 alone and they weren't the only flights. Doesn't diminish the numbers scrambling to get to the airport, or the long waits ahead in transit processing stations for Afghan refugees without secured visas.

Where'd you see that? Doesn't sound impossible, but I wouldn't take the US government at its word.
@BlueVeins Heard it on the 7PM news on the radio.

@soar2newhighs I can't find it online anyway. IDK, 5 civilians evacuated per soldier sounds possible but I don't know jack shit about military logistics.

Who is going to fact check them? Nobody credible.
It is not only the US getting people out. I know Canadian Special Forces are operating out of the airport and we have C-17s which are not small planes.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Why were they left behind in the first place?
@sunsporter1649 They are there to get mostly embassy people out and interpreters just like everyone else. We are trying to get out locals that worked with us. We have less people in country. My guess is they are probably helping out other allies too.

Why not? That’s like 2 hours for an average international airport no?
@SW-User Don’t know -that’s why I asked. Just sounds too hard to accept, but perhaps it’s true.

@soar2newhighs never seen the airport in Kabul but that’s like 30-40 planes. Between 4-7 million people go through airports per month on average

If it was on mainstream media don't believe it
@LadyJ Well it was allegedly an administration spokesman, regardless of the news outlet.
But there are so many stories coming out of Afghanistan, you just don’t know what to believe or who to believe.

I saw a funny quote on our Canadian TV: "the Americans are sending chopper, the British are sending planes, and the Canadians are sending e-mails"

:P
@JimboSaturn Canadian Special Forces are at the airport so it is more than emails.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I know they were slow at first, but now the are taking action.
I don’t believe anything these schmucks say anymore
