No, it's a publicity stunt.

@eMortal I really hope you're right.

@BlueMetalChick what could possibly happen? That US will nuke Iran? Iran is not interested in attacking the US. So... unless we attack them first, I don't see where the war will come from.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal John Bolton asked the National Security Council to draw up plans for a preemptive bombing attack on Iran so don't be so sure that we won't attack them first.

Remember, we attacked Iraq first. They didn't attack us. They weren't interested in doing anything to us. We did the same to Afghanistan, and Yemen, where we're currently carrying out a genocide. Our blockade has resulted in the deaths of nearly 100,000 children, aged 5 and under. And they never did a thing to us.
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick we were after terrorists. You can't negotiate with terrorists. The only language they know is force. Iran is different. They developing nuclear capabilities as a deterrent. They're not threatening anyone. The reasons why Iran is going nuclear is because the clergy fear US may come to overthrow the Islamic government.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal We were after terrorists in Iraq? What terrorists? Where did we find terrorists in Yemen? Where did we find terrorists in Niger or Somalia or Libya? Now in Afghanistan I can understand. We were hunting Bin Laden. But we got him. Bin Laden's been dead for years. And we're STILL fighting in Afghanistan.

This country has invaded three dozen sovereign nations just since the 50's. Were we looking for terrorists in any of those places?
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick Iraq was a threat to its neighbors. In all those other countries we were looking for terrorists. Those murders always hide behind innocent people unfortunately.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal No we sure as hell were not looking for terrorists in all those nations. Look at the case with Yemen. We attacked them because we were angry that their government was now Shi'a Muslim instead of Sunni. We've killed hundreds of thousands of people there and nearly destroyed the entire country because of that. Yemen is no threat to its neighbors, and did not harbor any terrorists. Iraq is the same. We preemptively invaded Iraq under the lie that they were hiding Osama Bin Laden, and that they had weapons of mass destruction. Neither of those things were true.
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick there is a terrorists nest in Yemen regardless of the government
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal Really? Where is it? What terrorist organization is it? What's their affiliation? Where have they attacked?

And most importantly, how did killing 93,000 children help fight those terrorists?
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick do you have proof that the US army killed 93000 children
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal The US Army didn't directly kill 93,000 children. Like, we didn't go shoot them. But our blockade of Yemen, which refuses to allow food, water, or medicine into the country (and is fucking illegal under international law, by the way) has resulted in 93,000 children aged five or younger to starve to death. And 14,000,000 people are now at high risk of famine. Not to mention the deaths from cholera since all the drinking water is contaminated, and we won't let medicine into Yemen either. Cholera is a completely preventable disease. We have the drugs which cure it, but we won't let the Yemeni get any.
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick I hear. That government is old the population hostage.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal The government of Yemen is holding the population hostage? So, the US-Saudi Coalition is blockading the nation to prevent anyone getting out, and simultaneously bombing everyone in the country to try to kill them...but it's the Yemeni government holding people hostage?

So if I lock you inside your house and then run around with a gun shooting up the place, you wouldn't consider me the one holding you hostage?
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick the current leaders need to resign. That's what I meant
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eMortal And why is that? The Sunni government was ousted from Yemen almost thirty years ago when the two separate nations of Northern and Southern Yemen were unified at the conclusion of the civil war. Why do the Shi'a leaders need to resign? I mean, I don't like them very much, but what constitutes their need to step down?
eMortal · M
@BlueMetalChick Hey, I read bit more about US involvement in Yemen. Sorry, I didn't know it was that bad. I heard arguments like there are civilian casualties because the Saudi army in not experienced enough for missile air striking! That they will get better with time! I'm like what?!!! So killing civilians while getting better at bombarding in not a big deal to us?!?

About the famine, that's a shame! Of course the blockade that started 90s left Yemen completely depending on Saudi Arabia. Now Saudis are feeding people bombs.

Here is a great song from Damien Marley about how stupid our so called experts are. Check the lyrics in the description.
