This is the year I start my five year retirement plan.

It's bloody hard work!

It’s good forward planning. I have seen quite a few struggle with the transition
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@Tradcp As I have said elsewhere, the transition isn't the problem. I must plan to ensure the future success of my company as I step back over the next 5 years - if I last that long.
Tradcp · 56-60, M
@SchoolBelle the transition I meant was the one from working to not working. The sense of usefulness and working as part of a team within my profession at least. I do understand what you mean though.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@Tradcp Yes, I understand that but it is not a problem. I will never stop working until I turn orange and need an extraordinary comb-over.

I am already handing some control and some equity to my two Project Directors. This process wi continue over 5 years, until they own 48% of the company between them.

We will, in the meantime, formulate a plan for how we deal with the next stage.

@SchoolBelle 🤔maybe so but if you put the plan into action sooner rather than later when the time for you to retire it shoould be a gentle transition
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@smiler2012 It's not the transition that's the problem, it's the legacy.

I have put the plan "into action" at exactly the right time.

You`re too young to retire, keep going 😬
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@Degbeme Would you eat an eye roll?
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@SchoolBelle Sushi.
FreeorLonely · 51-55, F
@Degbeme damn I’m retiring in like 4-6 years
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
What is a 5 year retirement plan?
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@smileylovesgaming It's a retirement plan that will take 5 years to come to fruition.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@kwood1 That's one way to put it.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@smileylovesgaming In 5 year's time, I will be 70.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Five years is short for retirement. Why the death wish?
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@KiwiBird 😂😂😂 Touché!

I will be gradually stepping back from my business over the next 5 years, passing more and more executive powers (and rewards) to my two young Project Directors.
