It ain't half bad

Well it's day 4 of being unemployed. The shock has finally worn off, and I must say ....I'm not totally hating it..... yet.

I did have an opportunity present itself earlier in the week. So just for fun I applied yesterday.
It's not WFH but I knew I couldn't ride that train forever.
My application/resume was accepted. Now I have to pass 3 tests/assessments to move forward.
Wish me luck on that part. 🤞🏻

Wow. So this wasn't a notice of losing your job, but more a sorry but today is your last day? That sucks even more. About 20 years ago with some changes in the department I got a furlough notice. I had a year to figure things out so that was good. Some of my coworkers had far less time due to being new hires. It all worked out in the end, but still weighed on my mind with kids at home. I hope this new opportunity works out, if for nothing else as a paycheck to wait for something even better. Keep that cushion fund in tact.

I do admit, the idea of not working gets better every day. I like my job, but I'd like even more only doing the things I want for myself. :)

@WindTherapy Correct, it was a 'we regret to inform you.... but today is your last day" kinda situation. Was a pretty big shock.
But I've decided to look at it as a blessing and that GOD has a plan for me. Something bigger and better is coming.

@skmokisses I would certainly see where it would be a shock after that many years. 😲

Good on you to save up a safety net. And better, that you're looking at it as an opportunity to look for something bigger and better. I wish you all the luck my dear. 🤗

Just wave at your old employer when you ride by....and be sure to just let the middle finger do what it may....as well...... they deserve the "spring up finger" at this point.........👺
Best of luck on your new journey!!
