What questions do I ask for an interview?

We are doing mock interviews at school and I have to ask questions when I am at an interview for a job I applied for.
Apart from the hours and pay what else can I ask.

I thought about asking about the company and it's history and ambitions but not sure what else.

The history of a company is usually available on their website. You'll look better if you have a specific question about their history ie 'What caused the shift in focus form X to Y?'

Asking about what the work culture is like can be useful.

A company that is always hiring probably has issues with worker retention.

@Dolimyte thank you, it's just practice interviews but it helps.

@Cinderellagirl If your interview is at a made up company, make up some history to ask about lol

What sort of work does the company do?

You could ask about what training they provide employees. What a typical working day looks like. If they provide pencils, or do you need to bring your own 🙂

@SunshineGirl Ok that's good ideas Ty.

Candidates should be aware of the company history and ambitions from their pre interview prep. We would expect candidates to understand the hours and job role from the job description.
The best questions are usually about things around the role.
Does the company support alternative travel so you don’t have to use a car.
Are there restrictions on annual leave
What are their policies on minimum vs living wage etc
