What does it mean if

You complete all the rounds of interviews and HR says they will update you but they didnt. And when you text them asking for an update, they dont reply?

Why cant they just inform... even if I was rejected? Why the silence and the lack of decency to reply when someone has reached out?

You're the backup. If for whatever reason the people they chose can't take the job or fail a probation period they'll call you back.

@bugeye i just got an automated message that said that they are inviting applications for the post I applied to. They said that post is open.
Theyre still actively searching and I guess it just got sent to me from the bulk email folder.
Sigh.
Guess I have been rejected.
