First "Big Girl Job" lol

So, on this lovely Valentine's Day, I received a salary offer for the job that I've been wanting. Tbh, I have never made more than 12k a year. I live in the south and have always struggled financially. I've talked about my schooling process over the years on here. So some of you may know that I recently received my bachelor's with honors a few days after my 26th birthday last December.

I am so happy to say that I was offered a salary of 62,500 dollars, a 5k sign-on bonus, and 18,000 in RSU (Restricted Stock Units). I cannot tell you guys how thankful I am for the position I am in. This may not sound like a lot of money to some of you, but it is life-changing for me. I have struggled so much to get here, and I have to say to never give up on yourself. Also, I am from the south, so our cost of living is cheaper than in other places in the US. I've also found the man of my dreams, and I just cannot believe the life I am living at this moment lol. If you would have asked me a year ago if I saw this coming, I would have said hell no. I was down in the dumps over a breakup with an ex of five years who was emotionally and verbally abusive. But with family, friends, and the most wonderful man ever, I was able to make it through one of the most difficult times of my life.

If you read this, shout out to you. And let this be a reminder that things can change for you in the blink of an eye!

I’m from the broke south too so I know exactly what you mean 🙄🙄 some people can’t even believe that people make such little amounts 12k but it is the harsh reality for some. My husband was making 14k a year and $200 a week was “good money” and before that he was making $100 a week

Love this so much for you. I admire how you were able to overcome and push through your struggles and transmute your life into something positive and wonderful. I wish you much success and happiness 🤗 ❤️
Congratulations on your degree as well

Congratulations !!!
62k annually isnt a good salary for the US ?
Saucylover · 26-30, F
@Strawbsy It’s great for my location!! Where I live, the cost of living is 37,000 a year. So you would need to make at least that to live comfortably. So what I am making is pretty good tbh. I’ve lived on my own with way less. It really depends on where you live. Like it probably wouldn’t be that great for someone who lived in New York or California. But for my location, it’s more than enough. I also don’t have kids or anyone to be responsible for besides myself.
