How is everyone in their careers? Especially the moms

Iv been trying to apply to some vocational programs but they are taking so long that now I’m looking into maybe taking out a loan to become a medical assistant because I’m tired of there little jobs like McDonald’s and target. Iim also nervous about how it will affect my credit score but I want to set myself up for my kids because I have no one helping me and a lot jobs give me issues behind my restricted schedule and end up paying for baby sitters which is hard. I really don’t know what to do.

Hard to give a useful answer without more info. If you qualify for vocational rehabilitation services I would definitely take advantage of that. A lot of the time they will cover the cost of the program and even assist with childcare. If you’re low income you could also potentially qualify for different assistance programs that help with childcare.

Sidenote, one thing that’s been really helpful for me was getting connected with my community. Facebook mom groups can be catty AF, but also a great way to slowly start developing your support network. establishing your support net work will help make everything you’re trying to do less stressful to make happen/manage @Dreamland98

It's always with "especially the moms" or "particularly the women." I guess hardworking men don't count. 😤

@Dreamland98 Well, I am probably going to start my career as a Data Analyst. It won't be a supervisory position to start, but will most likely grow into more of a management position.
I’m not sure your interests but I went to beauty school for esthetics. Depending on your state, you can finish a course in as little as 300 hours and work hours are very flexible, you can even rent a chair (again, depends on state regulations) and make your own schedule with your own clients.

@MorbidCynic My previous and present hairdresser work that way. Both happily and, I think, prosperously. A good return on the investment in schooling. Good luck to you in your career.
there was a fairly inspiring youtube video story about a girl who went from single, homeless, working at .. I think sonic, to having a kid, through vocational school to become an aircraft mechanic at tinker afb in okc, but I'm not sure how useful that really is to you.

My wife worked 30+ years as a medical assistant and office manager for an orthopedic surgeon. She loved it! The pay wasn't great, but that was okay.
