Why is it so hard to find a job I like and stick to it?

Also important to add, I told myself I wouldn't stop moving around until I found a job that I was satisfied with.

But the longest I've been on one job was almost 3 years.

I've been at my current one for about 5 months and I am ready to go.

There's gotta be something out there for me.
There's gotta be more to life.

😕

I think finding a meaningful career is probably rare. Isn't the truth that most of us work because we need the money?

I haven't had a lot of good job experiences either. I've met a lot of nasty people who just want to treat people as disposable.

I've found even with a degree, finding a good job is really hard. Mostly it's not the actual work but it's the management who adopt the lead with the stick rather than the carrot approach to make up for their lack of people management skills.

@iamnikki That doesn't sound like fun at all, in fact very stressful. Hope you are able to find something else.

@iamnikki It seems to be the new normal these days. I have older uncles who were in their same jobs for life, but i don't think even companies want someone staying that long now.

If work was fun, it wouldn't be a 4 letter word!

I was a big job switcher for a while.

What kind of stuff do you like to do?

@SW-User My first job was fast food at 16. I"ve worked consistently since then. Retail for several years while fresh out of HS and in college. A few warehouses, hospital, social work, now a school.
I like to teach, but I do not want to be a teacher in the traditional sense of the word.
I like helping others, but being a case manager was not for me. Most of the people did nothing to help themselves. I can have tons of resources, but if you don't go and get the service/sign up, keep appointments with people, get a job, then I can't help you very much.

I don't know. I feel useless a little. Like what am I supposed to do on this Earth. I kinda want to apply for some mundane job so I can think.
