Welp, life as a security guard is pretty interesting so far.

Pros: pay is pretty good when the company tells you there's a such thing as unlimited overtime.
Training isn't so hard and you got that personal satisfaction of knowing you're making a difference in keeping operations running smooth and safe.

Cons: THE ****ING ATTITUDE YOU GET WHEN YOU PUT ON THE UNIFORM!!! Look, I'm just doing my job by following state, federal law AND COMPANY POLICY. If you don't like it, work somewhere else.

Advancement. Sure you can move up in management. You can get your level three security license, at most level four license to be a bodyguard. But there's not much unless you're going up in the corporation or your own agency.

I don't know. I'm pretty good at handling the job and my dealings with people but...I'm looking for something more. I want to see about having a specialty, I just haven't heard of anything besides being IT and securing data/information.

If you know of anything, do tell. I may look into law enforcement but who knows. 馃槵

the company that I had worked for, my boss was in the military so he literally promoted people by giving them stars to pin on their collar. I made it up to 4 stars; and when i received my license to carry - oh shit! I miss thay company. my posts were always reassigned due to contracts/client needs but damn, that was a good company and that was a great time in my life. I literraly felt like I was "police". loved it.
