To the business owners here...

Did you have to go back to doing a job after running a business fulltime? How was it? What circumstances made you take that step? Were you able to manage both? Did the business suffer? How did you feel about going back to a job after having the freedom of running a business?

Unless you are driven by the prospect of unlimited wealth, running your own business can feel pretty soul-less. I developed my own financial modelling system for two years, before joining a firm as consultant to take advantage of their knowledge and access to capital for development. I make less money, but I have more security and waste less of my own time on tedious tasks. I am much happier working with people than competing wirh them, so on the whole I feel more "free" as an employee 🙂
