A Subject That Both Mainstream Left & Right Can Agree On

The huge increase in energy bills. These prices do not have to be this high and in the uk another increase in Oct is going to cause unmitigated devastation to the poor and small/medium businesses.

What are peoples ideas about how to tackle this rapacious greed?

How much are Energy prices going up there? I don't think we have anything like that coming to the United States but I'm sure some weird doomsayer like dippy Joe we'll say otherwise but anyway how much are they going up in the uk?

@CestManan bills went up a cpl of months ago by at least 100%. They are predicting another 70-100% again in oct and another increase in jan 2023

@gol979 so they doubled once and now they are going to double again? So just for sake of argument, if someone's average utility bill were $100 a month then they will be 400 before too long? You know what sucks is that companies used to just increase their prices a little bit here and there and try to be sneaky about it but now they are just shamelessly skyrocketing prices. It's like, grease up your backside hole and bite the pillow!

@CestManan yep. People already are struggling and add the increase in oct and ppl are going to suffer immensly. With covid at least you could stand up to the little brown shirts......with this its a faceless entity and almost impossible to fight it in isolation

@gol979 why exactly are they doing this? Honestly even though I do not live in the UK but it's still pisses me off that they would do that

@CestManan im trying to keep it in the realms of "greed and profit"....which it is but my opinion is its deeper than that also.....just want a thread where ppl can get ideas on how to stand up to it rather than arguing amongst ourselves
