I watched him feed himself today. Up until now, the chick has been chasing mum around non stop. Feed me, feed me. Poor mum. As I am watching the chick seemingly taking his first steps at independence, I see another Miner bird building a nest in the same tree this chick came from. I included a couple of photos of the beginning of the base of the nest. Masterpiece in the making. Truely marvelous how precise these little birds are. Sturdy circular base to build the nest upon.
@Mamapolo2016 24 hours later, the nest is taking shape nicely. Feathers and soft stuff are being incorporated. Only the female weaves the nest. Want something done right…do it yourself. 😀
