My Parakeet, Ike, Is A Quick Learner….

It came in cooler on Friday so I put all the birds out in the sun room for 4 days and nights. Tuesday morning it was getting really warm and was supposed to get up to 100 so I brought all of them back into the house. Come dinner time we sat at the table and I heard Ike say in a quiet voice “What do we get?”. I told him if he wanted to complain about something I would put him back out in the sun room and he could sit out there all by himself and complain about the heat. He didn’t say another peep…kept quiet all through dinner. Smart bird.

He probably wants some greens. Did you make a salad? He seems to get a little demanding when he sees you serving salad.

@4meAndyou they don’t care for mustard greens, collard greens, kale or spinach. They’ll taste them and then not eat them. They want turnip greens.

@cherokeepatti They like that spicy flavor!

@4meAndyou Mustard greens have a stronger flavor but they always like Turnip greens better.

@FurryFace Well I didn’t put him out there in the sun room either time I said it. The birds had been out day and night for several days both times and Ike would start up with his complaining at dinner after I brought them back inside to stay because it was getting too warm to stay out all day. The first time I told him if he wanted to complain about something I would take him out to the sun room and leave him & he could complain about how hot it was. Apparently he understood because he stopped his fussing right as soon as I said it. This second time he said it real quietly like he was talking to BooBoo and didn’t think I would hear him. He shut right up again and got real quiet after I told him the same thing again. He also knows what it means when I told him to turn around and look the other way if he didn’t like watching us eating. He would turn right around and face the TV but I’d see him every minute or so turning his head and side-eyeing us to see what we were eating.

@cherokeepatti lol , my Cat Buddy would stick his head in the bags of groceries looking for his cans of Tuna

@FurryFace I had a Siamese cat that would chew through a new box or bag of cat food every time I brought one in the house with the groceries. He had a bowl of cat food sitting on the floor in the kitchen and he would do this. I would try to watch to make sure he didn’t do but he’d catch me with my back turned for half a minute and when I turned around there’d be a hole chewed in the package.
